Snail extract cream selling well

A Chilean doctor who developed a skin cream from snail extract, is exporting 20,000 bottles to the US every month.

Dr Fernando Bascunan says he's in negotiation to sell the product to South Africa, Spain, England and Brazil.

He claims the Elicina Cream he's developed does miracles for the skin.

The discovery was made by snail handlers who noticed how quickly minor cuts healed without infections or scars.

Mr Bascunan told Las Ultimas Noticias online: "This lotion has regenerative properties. The snail has a natural cell regenerator ingredient in its slime.

"It is perfect for after shaving, when you consider how abrasive it can be on the skin."
