who is sweeter male or female?

There is a thread on the cat side that is very popular. I wondered how all us dog lovers (although I am also a cat lover and ALL animals lover) feel about who is the sweetest. Males or females. I already have my own opinion and it is really strong. Would love to hear all your thoughts.

I don't think sex has anything to do with how sweet they are. Both of mine are as equally sweet, and one's male, one's female.

It all depends on the individual dog and breed.
    But I, personally, prefer females.

I've never owned a female, but both my males are very sweet. Kai's the attention hog. He'll quickly forget he's supposed to be reserved with strangers and go over and sit nicely for a stranger if they have something to offer him. Kaedyn loves to give kissies. He'd do it all day if I allowed him but his breath stinks lol.

I prefer males but, I'd never turn down a female if she fit in our family.

throughout my lifetime i have owned & fostered many & find it about equal.
I think it just depends on how the dog is raised & cared for. Right now I have one of each & they are both very sweet & loving.

As far as preference, I ussually just look for one i like regardless of the sex, although occassionally ill get in a moood where I really want a prefered sex but again if i find a good dog that will change my mind. There is one exception though, like right now IF I were to get another dog it would probably be a male ONLY because my female does not ussually get along w/ other female dogs even with socialization & training so on & so forth. (long story but she came from a really bad home so he probably has an excuse somewhere in her goofed up mind lol)
Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.

Well, I've never had males! But all the males I know are very nice, as are all the females. It does seem that females can be more dog agressive though, from my experience. It really depends on the individual though. ^_^

(edit, I meant females can be more dog-agressive, not agressive in general. I've never met any actually agressive dogs, just dogs that don't like other dogs. )

Dogs have their individual personalities just like people do, so it just depends on that individual dog. I love both genders and find them to be equally as sweet!

    No doubt males

In the case of Labs, females are territorial, whereas males are much less so. Females are independent and like to lay down a few ft away from you. Males are lap dogs. Opposite of what one would think.

I've never noticed a difference at all in Labs. I had a sweet female Lab who LOVED to sit on my lap her whole life.

Also, in all the shelters I've volunteered at, just about every Lab I've met has been sweet, males AND females.

I really don't think the sweetness has anything to do with the sex of the dog, I think it's just in the personality of the dog. My friend has a female dog and she's just as sweet as Chipper.

This is quite interesting in that on the Cat Thread, most people had a definite opinion of whether the male or female cats are the sweetest. Most of the dog people say it doesn't matter.
Having had to break up male dogs before, I have to say that I think bitches are definitely sweeter. I have always been able to trust them alone and with other dogs. These boys are just BAD boys.
Maybe they get worse when springtime is coming up? lol.

Female dogs are said to be much worse with fighting than males. Males like to show off and act macho or, are what I like to call "drama queens" (Like Kaedyn). Where as females seem to have worst fights with one another.

Hi! Just going by my own experience with all of my dogs over the years. I would love either sex no matter what though. Have had much less trouble with the girls.

    Interesting.

My RB dog, Benny, he was a very sweet boy.. and now I have two dogs, who are both females, and they are both sweet... so I'd say, both genders.
You're the one sure thing I've found so you better stick around...

Tikeya is definitly a sweet heart, she is a lovey dovey gurl. I would say females are sweeter. .

My male rats are sweeter then my females though ...

With dogs, females are sweeter, IMHO
