    Slight kitchen renovations

We're redoing our kitchen -finally- It only took me 2 years (since we moved in) to convince my dad it was out dated. He said the floor was the best you'll find, I mean, what other floor would last 50 yrs? O_O!!!! I'm sure it was nice 50 YEARS ago..but..no. Anyway, we havent gottent he floor done but hopefully soon. We did do the counters though..omg what a difference My dad wants the cabinets to be painted diff colors..like the doors and the backsplash or w/e you call it..Um, I say no, they should be one color O_O What do you think?
I picked out the counter and backsplash. My dad has NO taste in ANYTHING no offence to him..not that I'm much better..but it looks better doesnt it??

Wow, Audrey! What a huge difference that makes!!!!! I'd paint the cabinets too, a neutral color, even white. It would update things so much!

Wow!!! What an improvement! I've been through "kitchen remodeling" a ccouple of times. Sometimes it doesn't take much to freshen the look. I agree with Logan about painting the cabinets.

WOW. It does make a difference. I would paint the cabinets, too, AND, get new pulls...to modernize it further. My kitchen is essentially in the same time zone as yours. I need a new floor, and I bet mine is also 50 years old. They did make them to last, didn't they? I love wood cabinets, and the 1950-1960 look...good thing. Did you/are you going to paint the walls? I would go with something, if you haven't already, that has some COLOUR! Let the cabinets be nuetral, you know?

I think the walls need to have something happen to them. Do you believe that my dad thinks it looks fine? O_O Eeew. I'd like the floor to be done the most though. If the walls/cabinets get done, guess who gets to paint them? ME! and you know how much I love to paint..well, ok you probably don't know how much I HATE to paint O_O

I'd personally love to see everything changed in that kitchen (And thats just the kitchen..other areas need work too..)
