New blankies for shelters from Amy

Ok, me and my babies went to work today and made some more blankets. As you will see from the pictures, they all helped me.. That one balnket I got at the yard sale for a dime, they insisted that it felt so good, that I not cover that but leave it soft and fuzzy. All 3 were in the sewing room and could not leave that piece alone so I am following their instructions!

Amy...."Mmmmm Mommie, this feels to good to cover!"

Amy selecting the one she wants........

Chester and Amy letting me know DO NOT COVER THIS!

Hehe, very cute pictures. What would you ever do without their "help"?

Awwww... I just need to know one thing: how DO you find all those great yard sale finds? Nobody around here has anything interesting.

Its great having feline helpers. Pouncer had to approve each one that I made.

I usually leave yard sales empty handid, this one was almost in my back yard so it was hard to miss and he really had the stuff priced to get rid of it all and he made a lot of money to have only charged 5 to 10 cents. He had a lot of blankets and pillows to use in the kitty stuff I am doing.

I am waiting now for something to come in the mail from my sister in Florida to make a very special blanket for that beautiful Evita at CCL's shelter. Watch for that post when it comes in and I get that made... Now, to find a box to ship it all in!!!

Looks like you have a great quality control team!

How nice that you are making something special for Evita - I remember seeing her picture that you requested.

I've been busy this week making more blankets too. I've also branched out into the round beds you told us how to make. I took one to the rescue Thursday for the cat room and the lady who runs it was excited for the cats to have an actual cat bed. My cats have claimed a couple too (my practice ones). Thanks for sharing, I'd never figured out how to do that on my own.

Funny you should bring up that bed I made...Now, I have to make another one! I had bought a kennel that would hold the 2 girls and brought it home and once put together, I couldn't handle it empty and it held that bed I made. Before I took it back to Pet Smart, I put that bed in there and Amy never came out of it!! She could stretch out as far as her little body would let her and not be cramped...She LOVED it!! (So, I kept it a few days longer than I had planned to so she could enjoy it some.. I went back and got one of those folding ones so now I know I have to make a bed for that one too....already have a smaller one in Chesters kennel that she slept on until I put the big one in the bog kennel...

You would have figured out how to make them without my help, I am sure of that..All you needed was the idea!

No wonder the kitties at the shelter love your blankets so much! They have already been tried, tested, and kitty approved!!! That is wonderful!

I pm'd you about Evita and I know you will be disappointed but happy too. Evita went to Petsmart so I don't see her anymore. I don't get Evita kisses now and I do miss her. I hope she gets adopted real soon. Sometimes the stress in the stores is too much on them and they come back to the shelter. I hope Evita makes it out and into a wonderful home this time and doesn't have to come back to the shelter ever again.
A PT prayer for Evita to find a wonderful loving home would be nice.

btw-I love the picture of Giz! She is such a hoot!!!

I am so happy Evita made it to Pet Smart where she can get more exposier. PRAYERS sent that she get the home she deserves after being there for a year!! She will bloom like a rose in the right home.. They need so much loving!!

My gang still prefer that one old soft fuzzy piece and I can not keep them off of it, I got a picture of giz today, trying to get in the box with them, she wanted that piece!!! I have made some more pads today with other fabric and have some others cut out.. The problem will be in finding a box to send them in!
