    eggshell powder

Hey, I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to grind up eggshells into powder? I know it seems like a basic question, but, I am really not knowing how to do it. Help a girl out if you can! Thanks!

    Thanks, Dogz!

I bake them, and then I put them in a cup and crush them with a spoon. Some people like to use food processors.

Thank you! Finn doesn't like them, that's why I asked. I need to make them as tiny as possible. I was thinking of actually buying a mortal and pestle.

    Thanks, Dogz!

I do that as well. I put them in the oven for 15 minutes or so to make them more brittle then I crush them with a spoon. Sometimes, I just use a food processor if I feel lazy.

Another thing you can use is a coffee bean grinder. Smaller and easier to clean than a food processor

I have a very small (about one cup) food processor. But, a coffee grinder would be a good idea. If I used it to grind eggshells, could I use the same one to ground flaxseeds? I've been hearing a lot about those as well.

    Thanks, Dogz!

Ok, call me naive. Why do you want to grind eggshells up? It obviously must be for a good reason because all of you knew what she was talking about! hehe.

LOL. Tonya, some people give their dogs eggshells because it's a great source of calcium.

Did you notice I mentioned that earlier? I actually baked some tonight and used the rounded end of an ice cream scoop. I can be resourceful if need be.

    Thanks, Dogz!
