Michael and I went to San Antonio on a business trip for my company this weekend and had a great time, but we’re especially happy to be home and see the furkids again!I missed them so badly, and they were all I could think about the whole five hour drive home!
San Antonio is a very old Texas town with a lot of historical sites and is where the battle of the Alamo was fought, and where Texans lost the battle against Santa Anna and his men in 1836.
I thought I'd share a few pics from our tour of the Alamo and some sites that were really cool.
Here's the Alamo. Not too impressive. It was mostly a tourist trap where you had to pay for a tour and it had a tacky gift shop. We were pretty disappointed by it.
Here are the fortress walls on the outside

This is the inside of San Fernando Cathedral. It's the nations oldest cathedral sanctuary.

These are in the church also. There are so many of them and they look so small in this pic, but they are really HUGE!

) that had not been restored and was still all original and unchanged. It’s one of the oldest missions in San Antonio and was really neat. We were given a guided tour by a very knowledgeable volunteer and really had a good time here. The wall art is original and untouched (not restored at all) other than having been cleaned of years of grime.

I miss you
