Per request...A few Pics from the Shelter

Some of you wanted to meet a few of the kitties from the shelter so I got a few pictures last night. Some I don't know to much about other than they are adorable and I love each and every one of them!!

This is Treat. He is the adorable guy that is leash trained. He was brought to the shelter after a divorce.

This is the precious baby Mike that was so sick. I'm soooo happy to report that he was well enough to be moved into a cage with his brothers!! He seems much happier but has lots more healing to do. Now you can se why he had me by the heartstrings!!!

This is the sweet Bastet. I did find out more about her. She was dropped at the shelter pregnant and in labor!!! A woman who fosters got her immediately and headed for home. She said the poor little thing screamed in labor all the way. She said she tried to avoid any bumps and talk to her. Later she delivered 5 healthy kittens that have now gone to their forever homes.

Can you imagine what all that must have been like for her. Hurting with labor, dropped in a strange place, picked up by a stranger, taken to an unknown place to give birth to her precious babies! It makes me sick to think about it.

I don't understand why the names and I don't know their story yet. I'm going to guess it has something to do with the holidays!!
The little tabby is Merry and the big orangie is Christmas!
Christmas is always pinning down little Merry and giving him/her (I don't know the sex of the little one. EEK embarassed) a good bath. Christmas is a very large cat and he plays with the little one so gently.

I have a few more pics that I will post later. It is a little complicated at work to do anymore right now.
I also apologize for most of the shots being taken through the cage. I didn't want to do that but everytime I opened the doors they wanted to come out and be loved. They just wouldn't hold still otherwise. The one that I did get was of Bastet and you can see she is on her way out to get some lovin!! (yes, I stopped taking pictures and held her for a long time)

How adrorable! Baby Mike is such a cutie, I can understand why you're in love with him!

Poor poor Bastet! It's good news that at least her kittens have a home now, but who can be so cruel to bring a cat in labor to a shelter!? I will never understand these people!

Treat, Bastet and Merry are beautiful tabbies, Merry resembles Lily a lot! And Christmas... what a sweet orange boy!

    Thanks for sharing!

It does my heart good to hear about the success stories! I love Merry and Christmas... they remind me of my Allen and Pouncer.

Keep up the good work and post more pictures!

Ok, I got a few extra minutes to post the rest of the pictures.

This is Rocky. He is a major arm grabber when you go by and very loving.

I ashamed to say that I don't remember the names of these two. The little black kitten is really young. He is very sleek and just adorable! I don't know to much about the other kitty. She is beautiful and I am not going to be sure that I find out more about the two of them.

This is the BEAUTIFUL Evita. She is very friendly but easily over stimulated. Small doses work best with her. It may just be because she is so love deprived. The only thing I know for sure is that she is gorgeous cat.

This is Sunkist and again I'm not sure if it's he or she!! I'm so bad! Which ever it is I do know that he is small framed and very regal sitting in the cage. A beautiful buff that reminds some of my Sammy.

These are two adorable tuxies. I'm in trouble again because I only remember ones name. Her name is Debbie and they are siblings. Look like twins to me!!

This is an unassuming little guy. He just sits on the floor in his cage and never makes a sound. He just watches feet go by.

    Check out this guy

OH WAIT!! This isn't a shelter kitty!! It's my BRAT Leroy!!

It's so sad to see all these lovely kitties in cages. I just can't understand anyone could leave them!

You're doing such a great job there!! I can tell you've got a little more used to it by now. It's so rewarding, isn't it! I hope they'll all find loving forever homes soon!!

I'm in love with Treats, Bastet, Merry, Christmas, Nate, Sunkist and the two tuxies.

Please keep us updated on how they're doing when you have time. Thanks for posting the pics.

Catnapper: The only way I can leave there without taking them home is because I can't choose! I walk around thinking if I could take even two ot three home who would I take. I don't know!!! I feel sad for the older kitties and think they deserve a home so bad. Then I see the babies and think that just once in my life I deserve a baby that isn't feral. Just one baby that I can have fun with and wants to be snuggled. Then I realize that those babies will get homes so fast and I feel guilty and sad for the older ones again!! Even if I were to decide to take an older one home which one would it be??? The tuxies are gorgeous! Sunkist has the sweetest face of any adult cat that I have seen. River is black and short haired and they don't get adopted very fast. Should I take him because he is going to be hard to place? The biggest problem is that right now there are about 50 more just like them!!! I want them all!!!
A new baby came in yesterday and I hope she went to a foster home because if she didn't then she will be the one I can't say no to. I saw her last night and she hooked me with one look. I hope I don't see her anymore because she will be my downfall.
Another issue that I have to consider is who will get along with the current crew!!!

Oh they're all so adorable. I wish I could just save them all!
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

They are all so cute, it is sad to see them all in cages. If I worked there I would really want to take them all home and I would be sad all the time because I couldn't. This is why I don't think that I could ever work at a shelter. I am just not wired right.

You and all others who do this have my thanks for taking care of them.

I really like Merry and Christmas, I am so glad that they have each other.

I actually loved all of them. Thanks

and their happy and willing slave, Bryan.

Many Thanks to Kay for the Picture.
