    Poor Yumi has an abcess

My poor little tabby girl has an abcess on the base of her tail. I noticed a few days ago that she was not holding her tail up but thought she had just bruised it, but when i fed her this morning i saw that the abcess had burst, and she was missing quite a bit of fur. also i can visably see 2 punture wounds (Blasted tom cats that people let roam around) Grrr

So it is off to the vets AGAIN for miss Yumi. I swear i am never letting the cat outside again.

I am so sorry to hear about Yumi. However, the vet should make be able to fix her right up.

Good thoughts to her for a speedy recovery.

You know since you mentioned it, you may really want to consider keeping her as an indoor kitty. It would definately avoid this type of situation. I know that it is hard with a cat that has been in/out. If she fights it too much consider only supervised forays to the outside. This is really only a suggestion.

actualy i am going to start working on a outdoor cat run this weekend as she love to spend time basking in the sun atleast she will be safe from the toms.

Thankyou for your kind thoughts, i am sure the vet will do a fine job as she did after Yumi decided to wrestle with a possum last year. That girl is accident prone.

Miss Yumi will be as good as new in no time at all. I'm wishing her a speedy recovery.

Poor Yumi, I pray she will be all better soon.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Hope Yumi gets better soon. Cuddles was an indoor cat and got abcesses from time-to-time. Turns out it was from spider bites. (Yes, we have spiders in Alaska). She'd lick them as hard as she could to get them to burst. Her hair was so thick and some times we didn't even know she had an abcess until after it burst or else we would have taken her to the vet. Hope Yumi is on the mend.

I hope Yumi will recover quickly and feel better soon. I'm glad to hear that she'll be an inside only cat now.
