    The TREE has arrived!!

The tree has been quit the adventure for me. I was so excited and about to bust with anticipation! I skipped from the back door to the front when I saw the boxes on the porch!! I kept telling myself that this was silly! Acting this goofy just because you think the furballs are going to have fun. I realized that I was also looking forward to some humorous moments and great pictures. We drag 145lbs in the house and start the assembly. Now how many of you have ever brought anything new or tried to put anything together in the house without tons of furry helpers? None right? Well my BRATS never even came into the room! The first night my buddy Leroy finally came and had a good time on it. I was so disappointed and sad that first night. I know I should have told them they couldn't get on it and things would have been different!
Anyway, they are using it now and seem to be enjoying it. They finally came through for me but that first night I thought I was going to cry. I could have used that money elsewhere!! I still ask myself why I try so hard to make them happy! Here are the brats at play.
Naturally, they had the most fun with the BOX

    The new Tree

Stubby is in the round house

Check out the size of this cat!!!!!

    Gotta love the guy!
We are all happy campers now and have moved the tree in front of a window and it is getting used!! I guess as long as hubby doesn't try the hammock sleeper we will be ok!

    ** raises hand** I have!!

AND, I also had the same dissappointment after we bought our 2nd cat tree. the first one we bought (because I could never afford them) was an inexpensive ($50) tree made by a local crafts person. The cats LOVED it. Then WAY later we bought the 2nd tree, for over twice as much, and the cats wouldn't touch it!

But anyway, It's a great tree and I hope we can see a lot more pictures of it in use.

And WOW is that last cat ever HUGE!

It's a HIT! So glad for you and your furkids.

I agree! And also the Perfect Man thread and website of Kims.
It's kinda like when you see a really cute pic of one of the cats - how can you not love him?

I agree they were probably intimidated, but now that they're used to it, and it's front of a window, I bet you can't get them off of it.

Oh, and T & P are like Boots, they'd probably get lost. For some reason I've never ever gotten them one of these, don't really know why, and now I think they're just too old. Peanut likes her little housie and Tubby used to like to be up high, but can't jump too good anymore so I guess the tree around here will have to wait.....

That is one beautiful cat tree. I love it. You did a great job picking that one out. It is good to hear that they are finally starting to enjoy it.

I know exactly how you feel about your furkids having more fun in the box instead of the tree.

I bought this small condo that was already put together and all of mine loved it. As a matter of fact as soon as I brought it into the house Smokey jumped into the top part and I had to drag it across the house because he would not get out of it.

However I had always wanted to get my babies a really big tree/condo that they could play in so I went on E-bay and bid on this...

I figured they would love it...well if you want to see more than 1 kitty on it, I have to put them on it myself...every so often they will get on it to spy on the birds outside and that's about it. I even tried spraying catnip on it.....nope, they love their small one.

That looks like a great cat tree! I can understand how disappointed you must have been when they first ignored it. After all, you've so been looking forward to it - and it was expensive!

Glad that they accept it now! My Luna is the same. It takes a while till she's getting accostumed to new things, but then she usually loves them. Lily however, accepts everything new immediately, guess it's the curiosity of a kitten

I still ask myself why I try so hard to make them happy!
I think it's because it's only natural to make those happy we love...

Looks like a wonderful tree. I wish I had the space to get something like that for Hayley and Mandy.

You know CL4ever I just don't get it!! I see that pic of your new tree and I would think that it would be heaven for kitties! It is really nice. I put so much thought into the tree and chose this one only because you can replace or add pieces at any time. It was more expensive ($360 w/shipping) but I was trying to be smart and plan into the future. Plus this one had all posts covered in sisel. They have shredded their carpet condo's.
I was crushed for a day or two. I mean that would have been an awfully big and expensive plant stand!!!
Thank goodness with each passing day it is becoming more and more used. Leroy is the top percher and has been since day one. The others are starting to use the scratching posts now. I think it is getting alot of use when we aren't home. I have not been able to get Pervy on it (or so I thought!). I got up during the night to potty and I flipped on the light and perched waaaay up on the top was Ms. Pervy sound to sleep. I think they are just messing with my head! BRATS I tell ya!

Kirsten I guess your right about trying to make the ones we love happy. They could have at least acted like they liked even if they had to fake it!!!

The tree is great, I'm sure, they'll get used to its size and will use it very often
