I have to show you guys the food bowl!

I wrote about this in my Binx update thread, but, I don't want anyone to miss seeing the food bowl that Binx now has! **edited to add** they measure, are you ready? 14 " across, 4.5 " deep, and stand 19" tall! I am feeding a horse in my kitchen! Notice the tight fit between Binx's bum and the fridge? We do a dance in the am...and he always moves when I try to slide by!

I 'made' it out of two garbage cans, I think they are called Umbra...they have those flip lids that you can swing around and around. I have a can of paint in each of them, for now, to weight them down. The bowls are stainless steel, and fit nearly perfectly in them. Binx has all the room in the world to stick his huge head and gums in there. It seems to make eating easier for him. I am ashamed I didn't think of it sooner. He doesn't have to bend at all...so, it is good for keeping air gulping down.

If you have a giant breed doggie, or even a medium sized one, you could just get a shorter can to put it in. The garbage cans were $9.99, the food bowls were $12.99 each! It isn't cheaper, I am sure, but it works so much better for Binx!

    Hehehe

I did the same kind of thing with Max. I used pails that we had laying around. Max's dish was ceramic so it weighed a ton.

Max's dish was raided because he started to have problems with his back & neck.

I'll be raising my future doggies dishes so they wont get sore backs/necks like Max had.

That's a good idea...I should probably look into something like that for Moose. I'm not very creative, though.
