where do i buy kittens in houston?

    This is my first post.
I don't see any classifieds on this site.
I am in Houston, TX. I want to buy two kittens.
I have been to SPCA and HOPE.
I am looking for Siamese breeds but I do not need registered kittens.

First I would like to welcome you to Pet Talk!

Keep checking the shelters, eventually you will find what you are looking for. I have a siamese mix that came from a shelter. You can also look online and see if their is a siamese rescue in your area.

Try Petfinder.com for kitties that need a home. You can search by breed, city, zip, etc.

    Good luck!

Here's just a couple I found in Houston.

    Welcome to PT.

Please, please try to adopt homeless kittens from a shelter or rescue. Petfinders is very helpful.

I too hope you will come back with pictures of your new babies.

Maybe you can find something on this siamese rescue site, they have a lot of kitties in Texas.

Welcome to pet talk. The best way to adopt a kitten (or 2) is to check out www.petfinder.org. If you type in your location, it will list all the cats in your area that are available. You may even find some shleters that you did not even know existed.

My suggestion is to adopt vs. just buy. It is a whole lot more rewarding experience.

Hope you find your new pets

P.S. There are also rescue sites for breed specific cats, like Siamese

It may be hard to find kittens right now. But starting in May the shelters runneth over with kittens! You'll have your pick of (many) litters, unfortunately.

Hi. Welcome to PT! We hope to see more of you, and more specifically, more of your kitties, when you adopt them.

Good luck in your search. I think if you try the sites the others have suggested, you will find some babies to welcome. In the mean time, begin setting up your home for two little balls of energy~

Welcome to PT. The sites others have mentioned are the best. I found my two through Petfinder.com. Good luck! Let us know what you find and, most importantly POST PICTURES!

If you really would like a Siamese, how about adopting a Rescue Siamese??? Here are some links to various Siamese rescue organizations in your area.

    http://www.arltexas.org/reference/

    http://tx.siameserescue.org/

    http://www.ydr.com/pets/meezers/adopt.shtml

You'd be doing the Meezers a great service by adopting a rescue.

    Good luck in your search!

Please give the Shelters more time , as you would be saving a life , or two , and getting a friend that will pay back tenfold all that you can give them. Found Cats are Living Proof! See below!

    Well, the kitten search continues.
We were just informed of two kittens that were recently rescued.
They were about to be put to sleep when the foster mom we were speaking to told us about them and we asked to see them.

We should be getting pics by tomorrow.
Then, it will be a matter of getting shots, tests and spay/neuter done.

I hope to have my babies soon.

Thanks to everyone for your wonderful advice. We will probably be getting our new family members through HOPE.

    I will update again soon.

    Welcome to PT!!

I will not add my suggestion to check out the shelters, because that has already been done. It looks like you found some babies too. Yipee.

I agree that when you get them you will have to post and tell us all about them. Pictures too, if that is possible.
