Cadbury was BAD! help i don't know whats wrong with him

lately cadbury has been bad! he will pee get up on the couch and act all cute then he wiil pee on this qulit. so we stopped lettting him up on the couch, and he was better. so this moring my brother was laying on the couch with a balanket, an da corner of it was hanging off the counch and cadbury just ran over adn peed onit then started scratching the blanket. i don't know why he's doing this he only started inthe last month or so

he just might not like that blanket or any blankets. they might have a smell on them that he disslikes & is trying to cover it up with his sent.. kinda like a dog.

maybe, but we've had that blanket since we got him and he always used to lay on it and on the couch, and he never had a problem with peeing before. it only started in the last month or so. and my mom said that if he doesn't stop he won't be allowed out of his cage at all

I forget, how old is he, and has he been neutered? Un-neutered male rabbits will often "spray" (pee on things) to mark their territory.

When you see him doing this, clap your hands twice (Danger signal between rabbits) then put him in his cage for ten minutes or so.

Also, of course, wash the blanket before you let him near it again!

no he was neutered about 2 years ago right after we got him. he 2 and a half. we washed the blanket. i forgot to mention that we just moved to a new house so he could be marking his teritory, bu twouldn't he mark the new carpet or new blankets?

Rabbits will be rabbits, they tend to do this, I know my rabbits do.

Rabbits can be trainned to pee in a certain place, but to my experience this doesn't always happen. They are naughty and somethimes do this to mark their territory, Is he neutered??

yes he is neutered. he's litterbox trained in his cage but he doesn't have one up staris out in the hoouse, he's onlly allowed out for a little bit he has to go for "piddle breaks" every so often so he can't have just had an accident.hats what we thought at first but then we noticed that he always did it on the blanket and he would go on the balanket and immeditaly pee there

It's a difficult one, try putting a litter tray somewhere when he is out of his cage. Or do what I do, let them run around for 5 minutes or so then pop them back in the cage for a wee. So on and so on, he might get the hang of it eventually.

I agree with Heather....he has to have litter boxes outside of his cage, even if he doesn't get out much. Just remember that you do not get to choose where the litter box is placed, he does! Go to www.rabbit.org to the Behavior link and read up on litter box training. This is a free and very valuable web site for bunny owners.

The other thing is that the hormones in a rabbits body takes 6=8 weeks before they completely are out of their system, so if he was neutered about 2 weeks ago,
1. he can still get a female pregnant
and
2. his hormones are still driving him to mark his territory

You need to stop this bef it becomes a habit. I would try putting a litter box on the floor right next to the corner of the couch he has chosen to "honor".

Also he could be objecting to your brother, seeing him as a competing male......don't laugh, many unneutered male bunnies will claim their female human friend as their mate, so this is not as bizarre as you might think.
