i need help setting up my aquarium

can somebody tell me how to put the background on to my aquarium? does it go on the outside or the inside?

It goes on the outside.

Check out www.fishgeeks.com for setup and cycling information. Definitely poke around there before adding fish, they'll give you all the info you need on cycling the tank before fish go in. It helped me out a LOT!

do i have to trim it? it doesn't fit, it's just alittle too big. it doesn't say anything in the directions booklet. how long should i let it run with out fish? my friend said they woul ddie if i don't wait a week, but the book says only 24 hrs. i don't want my fishies to die!

...I seem to remember cycling mine without fish for three days, then cycling it with Giant Danios for two weeks before I got the fishies I really wanted. I DID wind up getting kind of attached to the giant danios though...so I kept a few of them too.
