    My Early Thanksgiving

Well, maybe RICHARD celebrates Thankgiving on the third Thursday of November, but I beat him - my Thanksgiving Cactus celebrates it on the first Thursday

well, the actual color is something in between these two pictures - first with the flash, second with no flash

Wow, what a wonderful cactus. I have 2 similar ones, the same colour. The small one blossoms twice a year - but not at the moment. The huge one is one I got from mom and she got it from her mom, so it's probably over 40 years old.

My "Christmas" cactus really likes the window I have it in at work. It looks like it's gonna start with actually blossoms by Veteran's Day - last your it blossomed continually from Veteran's Day through St. Patrick's day on to Easter!

It really, though, it a "Bruni" cactus - it was created from the parts of Dad's cacti that broke off when he mistakenly moved them to a low table near a window - that Bruni (his Saint Bernard) NEEDED to look out quite suddenly. His cacti survived, their broken pieces became my cactus, and now a piece that broke of of it is my friend Kate's cactus, and it's about to blossom as well!
