    coul iams be the cause of diabetes??

    my cat who is diabetic used to eat iams and now my dog hugo who my parents think he my be diabetic we are taking him in to the vet on wen. please keep hugo in your prayers

    I am so sorry about your cat. I hope that Hugo is okay! I don't know what causes it... so I'll leave this to the professionals!

    I haven't heard anything about Iams leading to diabetes. I really don't think it does.

    Diabetes in pets is very similar to diabetes in humans. When looking for information on the internet, you can also look at the info on human diabetes and that will help too. I know that certain foods can't give humans diabetes, so I wouldn't think that a brand of food could give it to an animal.

    Hugo will be in my prayers. I hope nothing serious is wrong with him.
