    My Beautiful Rose

    I took these today before I cut it and brought it inside. I can't believe how fast it opened up. When I got home last night, it was a bud that wasn't even opened! It smells wonderful. It's name is Princess del Monaco. I would like to get more. There's a beautiful lilac one called Lagerfeld. Maybe one day I'll get brave and buy it. Roses are very picky and I consider myself lucky that I haven't killed it yet.

    Gorgeous, Valerie!! Even though it's down to 40 degrees at night here now, I still a have a few late bloomers! I picked one Aloha today; it's a beautiful deep pink and very fragrant! Even my antique Zephrine Drouhin has a few buds opening! Definitely get the Lagerfeld. It's lovely and you obviously have the knack!! In school (horticulture) they claimed it to be the first "blue" rose. Well, sort of!

    Two lagerfeld bushes!

    I have two of the lagerfeld bushes and they are wonderful roses. The beetles love them too, so I spend lots of time spraying....

    What a beautiful rose........they are much hardier than you think.....and yes, they do need to be sprayed and fed.......but they are like animals - talk to them, feed them, praise them and they return the joy a thousand fold.

    I have one I would like to share as soon as I can download it. It is called Just Joey and is one of my favorites.

    In Calif. I will probably get one more set of blooms and then it is all over until next year.
