How can you give up a foster **PIC**

Lucee has been here for a few weeks now. So long that we had to name her, we couldn't have her coming to us when we called her "The New Girl". We love her. How can we give her up? We must, but no one seems good enough to be her parents.

I just wish we could win the lotto and we could move and keep her and many more like her.

    WE LOVE HER MOM.

I understand how hard it is. Odie was a foster. Ginger was a foster, Cannilla was a foster and Brandy was a foster. Was is the key word.....their here to stay. I couldn't give them up, they became my family. I never planed on having 8 dogs, but once they get here it just to hard to let them go. So I know what you are going through and it is tough.

Someone will come along, lets hope, that you will feel safe giving her to and hopfull that will make it a little easier on you. Ask if you can come check up on her ever once in awhile, when that time come. Some times just seeing her happy in her new home will help you. I know when I got Mooch, the people that resuced her from the fire came and checked up on her and I didn't mind at all...I understood and they only had her 2 days till I was called. I also got some new friends out of the deal. Sometime it can be a win, win for all.

    Good luck

AWWW!! Lucee and Ashley have the same ears!

They are so adorable. I've never fostered, but that's because I know I'd never be able to give them up.

Oh how hard it must be, she is such a cutie pie
But I do hope a good enough family comes along for her, then I think it would be a little easier to give her up.

I don't know if I could do it.... I'd want to help pups by fostering, but I'd had the same problem you are. Finding the perfect person/people/family to take them! Who else could be more perfect then yourself for this wonderful life you've helped save?!
    That's how I'd feel, and I'm sure I'd keep everyone I foster!

Even when I got Buddy, (off of death row) he was so afraid of my Husband, he went after him once, lunged and snapped at him, and my husband told me I had to get rid of him, so I thought, hey... I could just foster him, and find him a home.... well, that didn't happen! It's now 9 months later, Buddy's still here, (and so is my hubby) and Buddy's still afraid of him, but not as much, and a week doens't go by that we don't fight about him. But I don't care!!
I saved his life, and I want him to be by myside forever!
Who knows.... maybe one day he'll save mine!

I know exactly how you feel. I've gone through it too...
She's a lovley girl, and I'm praying that things really do work out for you.
You have to promise me one thing though: You'll tell her new family about Pet Talk, so they can join!

Thats one of the dangers in fostering, getting too attached to let them go. We got very attached to our last foster, DJ. (see my webshot albums)

After seeing him survive parvo and his broken leg healed, we got emotionally attached. We try to spend our energy on our pets. A few are getting up in years, and we want the remaining years to be great.

Keeping one foster may mean there is less space to save another.

I know what you mean. I would have loved to keep this dog I transported to a foster home but it just wasn't possible. I fell in love with him the minute I saw him. And, I would also like to be able to keep Chance. I, too, wish I could win the lotto.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

Lucee is adorable and if I were anywhere near you, I'd take her in. Samantha would love having a canine-partner-in-crime. (Speaking of which, I talked to my fiance last night about getting another - nonpuppy - dog after we get married next June and he didn't have a problem with it! I want to save a dog that usually just gets walked past when people go straight to the puppies...)

Anyway! Lucee does look very happy with you and your other dogs look like they love her too. There is absolutely no way you can keep her? It looks like the arrangements have worked out thus far...
