Fister is such a good boy!

I really wasn't looking forward to give Fister his pills, but so far it's been beyond all expectations. They're rather big capsules - even for humans I'd say.

I asked for a teeth cleaning when he got his vaccination last week, but the vet had a look and didn't find it neccesary. In any case, we got the antibiotic for him to give for 8 days - 2 a day.

I do it when he's sitting all relaxed, there's no bloodshed at all! A couple of times, they ended up in his cheek or right in front of his mouth, but eventually, down they went! I give him some of his presents right after - Temptations!

This would not have been possible a few years ago!

I thought I was seeing things, Fister being good? Just kidding!
I know the dangers of giving cats pills. Leonardo has to take them often for his allergies. He is taking them now in fact. I find if I grab the nape of his neck and open his mouth then poke the pill clear to the back (almost down his throat) with my finger, he takes it and can't spit it back. Of course a kiss on the head and a treat help too. I also sneak up on the sleeping boy. The art of surprise works well here too. Continued good luck!

Fister, Trevor is so proud of you. He recently had to have a round of antibiotics and he was good as gold or in the case of you two, I guess I should say GOOD AS ORANGE! I even got a pill gun from the vet and didn't need to use it and didn't even have to put the pill way back on his tongue. With Trevor if something is in his mouth he wants to eat it! Fister we are all oh so proud of you and congratulations to you on your "pearly whites!" Smile Big!

So glad to hear Fister being good. Things go SO much better for all concerned.

EXACTLY how I give Sterling his pills including the kiss on the head afterwards.

Awww, Fister, you must have really missed you mommy and daddy while they were away! You're so sweet to show them that you can be good - even when pilling - so they don't take you back there again. And in the process, you're probably finding out that it's not as big a deal as you first thought. One quick open the mouth and shove it in and it's over with.

Hugs and skritchies to you, you good boy!

Good boy Fister! Keep it up.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!
