    What's your favorite restaurant?

We've had a lot of food threads lately, and I was just wondering how often you go out to eat on average, and what your favorite restaurant is???

We go out about once a week on average, sometimes twice. My favorite restaurant is Fridays; but unfortunately the closest one is 1+hours away from here. Second best is a local place called Jesse's. They are an upscale steakhouse, with the most awesome salad bar anywhere. They have a fireplace right in the dining room. Whenever we have anything to celebrate, we always go to Jesse's.

But "normally" we got to a local diner called the Hitchingpost. They have great burgers, and have the jute boxes on every table. That's a really fun place to go.

    What about you??

For cheap eats, my husband and I like Boston Market, Panera's and Fazolis. There are a couple locally owned breakfast type places that are just pretty good too but you wouldn't recognize the name inasmuch as they are not chain restaurants. Every once in a while I do get a craving for a McDonald's or Wendy's too although getting a tasty burger is not as reliable as it was when they used to make them fresh off the griddle. It really upsets me to see them stick a burger in the microwave. If I wanted something reheated in the microwave, I could eat at home.

We try to be judicious in the number of times we eat at a more pricey restaurant but there are several that we enjoy.

Pam, I have never eaten at a Red Lobster but there is one opening up in my area fairly soon, and I am going to try it.

I suppose the restaurant where I work doesn't count, because I bring home food from there every day--it is fabulous though--wood fired pizzas, home made pastas, oven baked grinders, and wonderful salads--yummy!!!!

For celebrating things, we like to go to a few local places The Gamble Mill, The Victorian Manor are two we have been to lately.

We eat out a lot, but I just love Otto's (another local place), Allen Street Grill (local again), and Mario and Luigis (local again). I'm really not a big fan of chain restaurants, and we have a lot of locally owned places here.

About once a week we will get take out, either a pizza, Chinese or chicken wings.

My favorite resteruants are thankfully not one's I can go to often ( I could never afford it!) They are Emeril's (we've been to the 2 in Orlando and have reservations at one in Vags for Nov) and Fulton's Crab House, also in Orlando.

Another Favorite is Uno's, but the closest is Ann Arbor ( about an hour away) For Ribs, my favortie places are Burbanks (Cincinnati) and Corky's (Nashville/Memphis).

Locally, if we go out, it is often to local resteraunts, not many chains. The include Mancy's (Steak House/Italian), The Real Seafood, Cousno's ( Steak House), Dolce Vita (Italian), Koto Buki (Japanese), El Camino (Mexican), and I could go on

    I don't really have one.

I'm not much of a seafood person, and my parents ALWAYS want to go to Crabby Bills. I always just order a small salad.

I don't eat out much anymore, but there are some incredibly
good restaurants around here, which is probably one reason
for our number 1 fattest city rating.

When I do eat out, my favorite is Mexican food... well Tex-Mex
really. I find the chain ones a lil' too yankeeified, so although
I'll eat at them, they don't rate as faves. I also find it best to
steer clear of Mexican food, once leaving the Texas area, because
you never know what you're going to get. We ate at a place
in Arkansas and the meal had a Soy sauce flavor to it. Yuck!
Also tried a place in Boston that was suppose to be one of
the best in the city. Oh my gosh! Knew I was in trouble when
the chips and salsa, consisted of Doritos. This place would have
been lucky to get 2 stars out of 5 in Texas.

Anyway, my favorite Tex-Mex restaurant is "Mamacita's". No
Doritos here. They make their own flour tortillas and chips
fresh. Mmmmmm.... Love the "Fajitas" there.

On vacation a few months ago, I had an awesome "Tostada", at
a restaurant between Houston and Austin, but can not remember
the name of it. Gonna have to search that place out again on
    my next trip towards Austin.

Boston Lobster Feast in Orlando. All you can eat Lobster and everything else. They even have steak. Second choice is Olive Garden.

But the pain is very deep.
