    Post Card Exchange....

I've seen some other message boards do this... and I was wondering what PT thought about it.

I think it would be neat to recieve a post card from other states and countries.

It would be similar to the Christmas card exchange.

    Thoughts? Comments?

Sounds fun! I wasn't around for the Xmas card swap. How does it work?

Count me in for this! collecting postcards from all over the world is one of my major hobbies!!
An idea: we could first make a list of everyone who is interested. Then we give the addresses to all who wants to participate.

Oh, I would just LOVE it to receive postcards from so many different places!!

Pretty much anyone who is interested gets their name on a list. Usually one person is in charge of collecting the addresses... then they email or PM the collected addresses on the list.

You then get a postcard for everyone on the list.

I think a way to make it real fun is to get a postcard that reflects your city, state, or country.

I would very much like to participate in this.. but this is a concern for me: I can't afford to do both postcards and Christmas cards. I've talked to Tonya/Zippy about the Christmas cards this year, so I'm pretty sure that list will be sent out again. If we do the post cards, can we wait to send them out until after Christmas? Otherwise, I can't participate

EDIT: I just remembered.. isn't there also a gift swap scheduled for February? I really want to participate in that too. I may just have to say no to this post card list. Stamps are REALLY expensive when you are sending out a lot of cards at once! Sorry, everyone. No for me

I also wanted to participate on this as I collect cards, but there's no way we can afford to send out so many cards I also have to pass. I can admire the cards at Lut's then

Naomi is right. To send a postcard here in the states it costs .23 cents. I am not sure what a postcard costs to send overseas.

We are a little over three months away from Christmas.........we might be pushing everyone's budget out of whack.

I do realize it's close to Christmas....

Well... shall we wait and do a post card exchange next year (spring or summertime)?

Or go ahead with this exchange now and do another next summer.

It is such a fun idea, I don't think any of us want to throw cold water on it. Spring or summer would be good. Perhaps a middle of the year event - like July would be good.

Perhaps we should wait and see if many people want to participate in it now, and then if so we could go ahead. I personally would like to, but I can also wait for spring. We could have another in the spring or summer for those who don’t want to do it now.
