Timothy & Phoebe went to the vet today...

    Thier first vet visit!

I will say that I'm so glad I get 60% off...it'll really help with our 6 and these 4 fosters. That's a huge blessing!

I took Phoebe in because she still has diareah to pudding-like poop and was skinnier than the others. I took Timothy in because he keeps peeing outside the litter box. This is a big change from when he was covering everyone else's "deposits" the first few days.

    Phoebe:
*Weighs 14 oz. She was 1.1 lb last week...
*Given flaygl + albon + clavamox + dewormed
*I'm to watch her for improvement

    Timothy:
*Weighs 1.4 lbs (he was 1 lb last week)
*Dewormed + albon/flagyl mixture with the other kittens
*Said to change litter often...it is a feral thing. But, he said Timothy would get the hang of it.

My total for all that...was $26.00!!! Woohoo! I'm so glad, I was worried I wouldn't be able to pay for their vet bills until I found them homes. Such a blessing.

I'll bring them all in in two weeks for their first round of shots and I'll have Phoebe tested (Dr. recommended testing her, just in case she's still not feeling well.) for FIV, FIP & Lukemia. I'm glad I wont have to pay to test them all, thank goodness they're all siblings!

Anyway, they are doing well now. I have them separated into cages as they started to get a little more rambunctious and are growing so fast!

That is great you get such a discount from the vet.

Poor little Phoebe - I hope all the meds get her healthy and gaining weight soon. Interesting about Timothy, I'd think at such a young age the feral part wouldn't make such an impact on his litterbox behavior. Good luck with it.

I was just thinking about how much it cost when I took Scout in for the hairloss I was afraid was ringworm. All they did was use the blacklight on the spot, took a culture and cleaned her ears (no meds) and the total bill was $112. They charged $15.00 to shine that light on one spot and $50+ for the culture. Turned out it wasn't ringworm, it was where they applied a treatment of Revolution the first time I took her in. I think I need to find a new vet

Kelly, that's so great that you get such a big employee discount. I sure hope that these meds will do the trick for Phoebe and the other kittens. I'm sure that Timothy will learn the proper way to pee in time. Good luck.

OK, I changed thier litter to Sweet Wheat...I hate clay cause of the smell, and scoopable clumping gets stuck to their paws. I bought NEW litterboxes so they wouldn't smell and added this Arm & Hammer stuff to make it all fresh. Pheobe doesn't like it and went outside the box, but it wasn't diareah!! After just one day of meds and a deworming!!

I'm keeping the litter, they need to not be so prissy...

I just read an article in Cat Fancy that says they learn to cover and use a litter box at four weeks. So, I think they aren't being prissy, they may just still be learning?

I guess I"ll just keep putting her in the litter box if I see her looking for a place to go. She pees in there....so I don't know what she's thinking.
