    Prayers for Maddie

Maddie is one of my foster "projects". I takd in cats of all ages, one or two at a time, with difficult temperaments and attempt to tame them.

She has been diagnosed with an "unknown" central nervous system condition which makes it hard for her to move. Fortunately, her blood work was good, and she can eat and keep her food down. She has been to two different vets and they both came up with the same condition and prognosis: that prayer couldn't hurt. So I've come in to ask for some extra help from you great folks.

Here's a picture of Maddie before she got so sick. Maddie is the torbie on the left. Thanks in advance.

    what kind of treatment?

I am so sorry to hear about Maddie's condition. What did the Vet do to treat her?

I had a kitty with nerve damage once and my vet prescibed a drug used for humans, years ago, called Bathanachol, I think....I am not sure of the spelling. It was used years ago, to rebuild damaged nerves. It worked for my kitty. I had a hard time getting the meds, but found one pharmacy that had the pills. It might be worth a try.

    P. S. I just found the drug information on the internet, and I think it would not work with what Maddie has going on. You may want to ask your vet though. You just never know.

I'll enclose Maddie in my thoughts...

It is so sad that even the vets couldn't tell what Maddie is suffering from or how to help her!
But never give up, Maddie...there are kind people who love you just the way you are and will give you the support you need!!!

Any time I read about a cat with such neurological conditions I have to think of that brave little Julius (famous cat of the TLC Cat Club at Best Friends) and how wonderfully he manages his life!

Prayers are on the way for sure, Maddie!!!

Thanks. She's on Dexamethasone, a steroid, 0.25 mg/day; and Clavamox, to combat any secondary bacterial infection, .3 cc, twice a day.

She eats with gusto, and from what I've read over the last 2 years, a cat's not ready to pack it in if she's still eating.

I'll check that link out. I know people in the industry who may be able to get me samples, if the vet won't cooperate. But I'll be good and ask the vet first.

Lots of prayers and positive thoughts on their way for your lovely little Maddie. Good to hear she's eating well - usually a good sign.

She gave me a big scare this morning but seems better tonight. This took awhile to manifest so will take time to resolve itself.

    Thanx for your support.
