I had an awful experience yesterday. Don't read this if you don't want to be upset.

I was a couple of cars back in a line of cars that was approaching some geese crossing the road. I saw it well in advance, as everyone did, so I slowed down and was almost stopped when I saw the first car plow thru the geese. It was awful. At least 2 adults and some babies. One baby struggled to get up and limped off the road. I doubt he will make it. Another baby was pecking at his tummy but his tummy was exposed. Since the car was a large white minivan I easily found the guy at the next light and pulled up to him and asked him what happened - "I thought they would fly away". Geese don't move fast and babies with no feathers and small wings don't fly.

I got his license plate number and when I called the police they were very responsive and glad I had gotten the number. I hope this man can be punished in some way. I have never witnessed such horror. Why do people capable of doing this exist?

That's terrible, poor babies. Why would anyone do that? I really hope this man gets what he deserves for doing that! It was a good thing you got his plate number.

That's horrible! We have a problem-or some people think we do- with Canada geese and they have been destroying nests. But on a brighter note-there are signs that say duck and goose crossing. Good for you to get the idiot's license!!

Two nights ago, we were driving down my street and a cat darted out in front of us--I screamed and my heart was pounding--we didn't hit it, but it was close--thank God.

Let us know what happens if the police do anything.

Good for you getting his plates and calling the police! I can't imagine witnessing anything like that! poor geese!

Maybe this will teach this guy some patience. How much longer would it take him to arrive at his destination if he would have just waited?

There are soooooooo many reckless drivers out there, they don't care abt anything at all.

Since I don't live in the town where it happened anymore, I may never know if the guy gets punished. I can say that the tone of the officer's voice and his reaction indicated to me that he took it seriously. Apparently officers had been called to the scene and it sounded like they wanted to get the person responsible.

It comforts me to think the police will do something, and it comforts me knowing that everyone at pet talk cares so much about animals too!

Canada Geese are Federally Protected Migratory Birds. I am completley OUTRAGED that someone would be so Heartless to rampage through them like that (Sob) This week I just lost my baby goose,His name was Diddie and miss him more than I can say. Thank You for reporting that"person" I truly hope they get what they deserve.

That is awful! How can someone do that?!?!? I am glad he will get in trouble. He deserves it!
