    close call!!!

I had to share this with you all.

Last summer Tikeya was hanging out with me and my bro in the front yard while we were making a hop scotch for him. Tikeya desided to wander off into the bushes to mark her territory and a van came out and hit her. . I screamed. She ran over to me and layed right on my lap and was so scared. she thought she was in trouble.

It scared the crap out of me!! She was ok though, the van stopped and checked to see if everything was ok. I was so happy she was ok. It was like a miracle.

has anyone eles had a close call like this befor??

WOW, was she hurt? any injuries? Im so glad shes ok!

I think I may have told this story before, but here it goes...my mom and I were on our way home from the pet store, it was dark out. We were coming down our street, when we noticed this dog that looked alot like Daisy....so, I got out of the car, and sure enough....it WAS Daisy!!! I was screaming like OMG, OMG, OMG! So, we scooped her up into the car and quickly headed home. Well, who do you think also got out? It was MOLLY! Molly was laying on the front lawn like nothing had happened..thankfully, they were fine with no injuries. It scared the hell out of me though!!!

ack! yes i have many stories of this and shes only a pup! lol.. Well i was inside and cami was out in the backyard {my bro was back there too just playing baseball} so cami was so small then she could fit through the openings in the fence... So she went through and my brother came in not knowing she was out there.. and then we went looking for her and my brother running after her.. She almost got hit by a car! im so glad tikeya is okay! What a scare!

Omgosh! I'm so glad tikeya wasn't hurt...what a lucky little pooch eh? Kai's had some close calls...

I've said this on pt before..but I guess I'll just refresh your memories lol...My mom and I took Kai to the vets. After we were done the checkup, I left to go in the car and wait for my mom to come back from picking up a few things at a store across the road. Kai had always hated getting in the car. I got in and tried getting him in with the leash. Sure enough, he slipped out. There I was holding his leash with the collar AND tags watching him run. At first he ran away from traffic...because half a block away, were ALOT of cars. Probably one of the busiest roads in vancouver. I ran after him but he decided to turn and go back towards traffic..he stopped at the bushes and decided to smell around...I tried grabbing him but he slipped out of my hands. He then ran away from traffic again and I chased him for 3 blocks. I had never ran so fast in my LIFE! I was just about to try to get him into the school field which was mostly fenced..I figured I could probably catch him in there rather than on the streets....while I was trying to get his attention to follow me...I little lightbulb had popped into my head...I tricked him into sitting for me by making a fist which looked like I had a treat in my hand..sure enough, he sat and I grabbed him....that was the end of that story...

This other time, I was sleeping over at my cousin's, so Kai was left to my mom and brother. Both of them had gone out to buy groceries leaving Kai with my dad at home. My dad let Kai out for a pee WITHOUT remembering that my mom always leaves the gate open when she goes out. We all know that so...we put a leash on Kai when he goes for a pee and the gates open. My dad left him out for probably half an hour or more. Kai went out the gate into the alley. My mom was driving home and said "Hey look at that cat! It looks like Kai! Let's run it over" (ONLY JOKING! she'd never do that). My brother screamed "THAT IS KAI!!!!". He had stayed within five feet of our garage...I was so glad he was safe..I got unbelievably mad at everyone when I got home...So now..I'm extra cautious..

Normally, I have my animals on a leash when out front, especially if there's going to be traffic, But that's just me. So.. Nope, no close calls here.

There is never traffic on my street, so thats good. my street is always full of kids lol So ppl drive slow. That might have been the main reason Tikeya didnt get hurt.
She is always on a leash now though. I have this cute lil set up in the front for her. like this cool lil screw thing that digs into the ground and then you attach a leash or chain to it. I also have like her food and water out there. they have like ten different food and water bowls lol.

You didn't take Tikeya to the Vet for Xrays?? Dogs can have internal injuries and not show that they are hurting.

Like Aly and Kayann, my dogs are always leashed, so I have no stories. I did have Riley out a few times off leash with the frisbee, but I had my eye on him the whole time, and so did the neighbor, so he was fine
    Glad Tikeya's ok.

There's never traffic on my street either, always kids playing, people drive slow. Yet, When I was younger, I got hit by a car. Not bad, it was actually just my bike because I was smart enough to jump off befor the car hit me and it just hit my bike. But, a little tap to a dog could do so much more than a tap to a bike. I put my dogs safety before mine now, no matter how much traffic there is.

When Mick is outside with us, there is always someone with him, and he is either always leashed or right next to someone. My mom waters her plants every night and he likes to go out and watch. I sit out front with him and if he isn't leashed, I just tell him to "stay" and he'll sit and won't move. Just to make sure I keep my arm around him or something. If he's in a nervous mood that he won't sit still, I put him on the leash.

Once, during the time when he was just a few weeks old, I brought him out (like a moron) and put him down to see my friend. After he greeted her, he started running off in the direction of the street. It was so lucky my neighbor was there and caught Mick's eyes or he would have run right into the street. I never did anything stupid like that again.
