Advice Needed (Everyone seems to be sneezing!)

We had the cats boarded two weekends ago. So....I guess a full week ago, today. (All but Hermoine)

On Tuesday night, Olivia had a sneezing attack. It was like 8 really quick sneezes in a row. She seemed to be a tiny bit out of breath because they were so close together and her eyes would water. I gave her .5 cc of Benadryl which didn't seem to do much since she seemed to drool it all out again!

She's gotten more sneezing attacks during the days since then.

I heard Noah sneezing during the day yesturday. Then I heard a small sneeze come out of Basie last night.

This afternoon, Hermoine sneezed! She just did it again. And again! (She's been on Clavamox sinse Wednesday evening.)

I decided late last night to give Noah and Olivia .5 cc of Hermoine's clavamox (for her laryngitus/breathing thing) and just gave them another dose about an hour ago.

Noah seems a bit better, Olivia not at all.

What is this? I don't want to take them ALL to the vet for allergies...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Kelly, I'm so sorry to hear that all of your furkids are sneezing. I'm not sure what I'd do because the vet usually can't do much unless they become sicker. Prayers and positive thoughts are on the way for everyone. I sure hope it's nothing serious. Please take care.

Are you in the S.F. Bay Area? I went through this last week with Mishi and took him to the vet, who said it was probably just a minor cold. He's gotten over it after sleeping for a solid day and laying low. We're also having an extremely high pollen count this season and even human allergy sufferers' symptoms are off the chart (like MINE! )

Hope it's nothing major -- just a case of the sneezles

Thanks Tracey, that's a very good point. I'll ask the vet about that.

As far as the pollen thing, I hope that's all it is. We are in Southern California.

We have a vet appointment for her today at 2:30, I'll keep you all updated.

Oh no!! I'm almost inclined to think they picked something up at the kennel. I've been experiencing this sort of thing at the shelter lately. A lot of kittens tend to get the sneezes, and lately I've noticed many other cats in the "cat room" are sneezing now!

I sure hope it's nothing serious! Poor things! Let me know what the vet says!

Sending positive thoughts and well wishes for the "kids," Kelly. My Mr. B had fits of sneezing (sometimes 10 at a time) last year and was diagnosed with an URI! A week later, Oliver got the bug! After a week on Clavamox, they were as good as new.) Hoping it's nothing more serious than a cold! Please let us know how they did when you!

Well, they all have colds. I'm so glad it was nothing more. They don't need meds as long as they don't get mucous that has any color in it.

She said Olivia (and the rest) most likely got it from the kennel. She also suggested that Hermoine got the worst part of it cause she's so tiny/young. Poor thing! That'll be the last time we board our furkids!! (Not that we had other options, but the vet is looking like a better option in the future!)

YAY!! I'm so relieved, I can't even tell you!

That's great news, Kelly! Seems you should be able to board the cats without having to worry about them getting sick.

Seems the vet just might be a better option next time.....if there is a next time.

So, I think I know how it feels to be a mother. Each time one of the sneezes, I worry for them. Hermoine now has the cold too and she seems to have it worse. She's supposed to be done with her Clavamox today, but I think I'll keep giving it to her until the end of the week.

We've been taking them into the bathroom and turning the shower on super hot to make a steam room to clear up their breathing. Poor things.

Get this...the only one that isn't sniffling or breathing wierd is MICAH!!! Funny huh? (but GOOD!)

Kelly, I am sorry your furbabies are not well. Thankfully it's only a cold. I hope poor dear little Hermione and the others get well soon. Micah, you are lucky not to have come down with this.
