    Outrageous

What is the most outrageous thing you spent money on for a cat?

I think our is the time we were driving to feed the ferals and I spotted a cat hanging at the very top of a tree. I told my husband to stop the car and we got out and tried to coerce the cat down, with no luck. We went and fed then checked on the cat in the tree, which was still there. We called the Humane Society who came out and tried to get the cat down, but didn't have a ladder tall enough. We set a can of food at the bottom of the tree in hopes the cat would come down and eat and left for the night. Next morning we went to check and the poor thing was still hanging there! We finally called a tree trimming company and paid them $150 to bring out a bucket truck. They brought gloves and an canvas bag and when the bucket reached the top of the tree, the cat JUMPED ! It landed on it's feet and took off running. Never saw it again!
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

Oh gosh! It was 3 years ago when we first got Yoshi. He was a tiny little guy and spoiled...! We were out in Scottsdale AZ to deliver to one of my accounts, a cat store called Purr-suasions (all they sell is cat related items) and there it was, right in the window with the store cat, Miss Kitty laying in it. It is a huge Panda bear bed. The softest, prettiest thing we had ever seen....and extremly costly I might add But Tim fell instantly in love with this, and like I said, we were totally spoiling Yo-yo. So we bought it for him as a Christmas gift.....do you believe that?! At the time it was 2 weeks before Christmas and we didn't have any gifts bought for anyone....except our cats!!

To this day, it sits on a chest at the end of our bed and he sleeps in it at night (but only in the wintertime....too hot now). Its a good thing people know that we are crazy we have no children, just fur-kids!! And we spoil them all.

I made the mistake of buying a cat tree. What it is is a very large cat condo, made to look like a tree. It was really nice looking. I fell in love with it. Its made for up to 5 cats to play in. I not saying what I paid for it, lets just say I trade K& L her $150 bucket truck bill for my bill. LOL

The mistake is that that cats don't like it. I would have been better off just getting them a box to play in. Oh well, live and learn.

    Pixel's Cat Litter Box!

In itself, a cat litter box is not a "ridiculous" item - but we decided that we wanted one of those spiffy covered boxes. Normally, a cat litter tray cots $5-$10 Australian. This one set us back nearly $50! It was worth it though, there are a little bit less kitty pebbles on the laundry floor now

Mum to two little humans, a very vocal 14 year old Ragdoll, and a super energetic and snuggly rescue kitten.

Yep, we did that too, but our Fire Dept. will not repsond to calls like this, unfortunatley!

Phred -ROTFLMAO!!! I thought there must be stories like that in the fire department.

    Ok: Spending money:
We came home one night with the car when a cat in suicidal intentions ran on the street. My husband braked but if he hadn't turned the wheel and hit the curbstone, he wouldn't have a chance to miss it. So the tire and the rim were broken and all that was around 100 US$. We still see the cat most of the evening in front of the house where it lives and think it was well worth it.
