    Nakita Goes To The Cottage........

Since some of you have requested more pics, here you go!

We went to my cottage a couple of weeks ago and brought Nakita along. It rained the whole time and was cold!! There was only one day when it didn't rain and that is the day that I took these pics. Since it is spring, the black flies were also out and Nakita didn't enjoy this 'new' experience! Neither did I!

This cottage has been in our family for over 70 years and when my grandparents immigrated from Finland they paid $10 for 7 acres!!! It's located on the Canadian Shield so the land is a mix of rocky shorelines and woods.

Sorry for the picture quality but I was using a 35mm and didn't have the right film settings for the cloudy conditions!

I love your cottage! Wow, you've had it for 70 years? and only for 10$ you got 7 acres, hehe! It looks very peaceful there.
    Nakita is very beautiful!
    Thanks for sharing the pics!

You can see how small Nakita really is in this picture. What a little cutie. Is your cottage in the Bancroft/Peterborough area ? Ours is near Bracebridge and the landscape looks rather different. I refuse to go up until the blackfly season is over. You are braver than I !

Just in time....I was starting to go into Nakita withdrawal. What a peaceful getaway.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!
