Give a Bob a Bone! (pics)

Of all the dogs I have owned Bob is the only one not to regularly have had a bone to chew on. In fact he has only ever had one bone before, when he was a puppy, and because he got so possessive and nasty over it I didn`t let him have one again.
I can`t really pinpoint and tell you why I changed my mind and got him one today.
I gave it to him and told him to take it in his bed and at first he was sort of couldn`t believe his luck, just lay there with it. Then he began chewing but every time I was in sight he was watching me, maybe thinking I was going to want it back, I don`t know. Anyway, he stayed by and with it for hours, having a good gnaw away, only coming out for his dinner. Tonight he is much more relaxed and sure, he even brought it to me and put it on my knee to admire! It has made him so happy!
Here are some pictures not long after I gave it to him.

Oh Bob you are just so sweet there with your bone. If you play your cards right and don't ruin it, I think your mommy may do this more often. My Bella gives me the curious eye when she is chewing on a bone and I approach her, so I can relate. I am secretly in your corner, rooting for you for more bones in the future! ( PS....I bet if you were REAL nice to Ebby, you might even get something better than a bone! hehe!)

Sara, don`t give him ideas, my ankles are very boney!

Pam, he has been awful good, kept putting the damn thing on my knee again while I was watching tv, just like he does with his Kong, Ball etc, no way to get him to understand I can`t throw it for him! Won`t let me keep it though (not that I want to!)

Don't you look sweet, posing with your bone, sweet Bob! I'm sure your Mommy was very proud of your fine work! Seeing as how you were such a good boy, I have a feeling it won't be your last! Love and hugs to Bob and Ebby!!

Yay for Bob! glad ur better with a bone

Max will never ever be ok with large chew toys. So far the only thing hes ok with r the bleached bones, but not at first. We put it in a corner & tell him to stay there & when hes ready he'll leave the bone & be ok. But he can never ever have flavored bones, he just turnes 100% aggressive & u don't even have to be near him, he'll run up to u & snarl, until u back off even more. But he was under 1 the last time we gave him a flavored bone. Hes the same with the huge dog treats, but I've found away around that, I hold the treat the whole time & only let him take 1 bite at a time & hes fine. I get him to do tricks as well for it.

LOL How cute! Good boy Bob! I've never given Nebo a bone, but I'm sure he'd be ok with it....he's never been food/treat aggressive with humans...dogs, now that's another story...
