    Can dogs get tummy viruses?

I had the joy of waking up at 3:30 a.m. this morning to the sound of Ripley being sick on my bed. After I got the bedding all cleaned up of course I was wide awake so I may just slump over the keyboard from lack of sleep before I finish typing this. Anyway, I fed Bella and Ripley breakfast as usual and neither one of them ate a bite. I am wondering if they might have a tummy bug? Anyone know if dogs can get and share tummy viruses? There is no diarrhea and they are both acting totally normal except for not eating.

    Pam,

Short answer is yes they can. Kennel Cough is a good example
of a problem caused by a virus. There are a lot of others. Poor
Riley. Hope he is feeling better soon. Do Bella & Ripley act pretty
normal(except for the skipping breakfast) ? Are they both drinking
water as normal? I'd just watch them for 24/48 hours & see how
things go. Give hugs to your furkids for me.

Thanks Liz. Yes I should definitely remember that they can share kennel cough because they did when Ripley first arrived. He was nice enough to share it with Bella.

Well the crisis is over. I noticed late this afternoon as I was eating my tuna sandwich that I had two pairs of eyes looking longingly at me. I fed them dinner about an hour ago and the appetites have returned. Whatever it was it is gone thankfully!

    Pam,

I am glad Ripley is feeling better.
OF course I would be eyeing your tuna sandwich too.

Rocky (he has a sensitive tummy)
seems to get an upset stomach in the mornings
periodically. He acts like he has morning sickness.
I guess they are just like us with tummy upsets?

Hmm. I sure that Wade just was thrilled, huh? Of course I have to add my 2 cents, yes, they can get tummy viruses. I know Cody did (and I tried giving him Pepto Bismol with a spoon and wound up pink..duh) Anyway..it was kinda hot this morning too for the first time.. I'm glad the kids are better...I personally think they just plotted together to worry us to pieces!
