AWWWWWW! how cute! I think people say that because they have a very strong "prey drive" and herding instinct, thats abviously not true though! I loved the pics! Thanx for sharing!

I think it's all how you train them / raise them.

    Awwww! How adorable!!

You know, I was thinking the other day about getting a small pet like a gerbil, hamster, ferret, or something of the sorts. Drake made me change my mind that same day when he went nuts trying to hunt a lil furry creature on our morning jog. I think that if he had been raised with a lil critter he would have been ok, though.

I had a border jack pup (about 5 months old) and a ferret, they did NOT get along well.

Mind you the dog was out not out to hurt the ferret, he just played a little too rambunctious and rough for an animal as small as my ferret.

ppl also say that malamutes and siberian huskys have t high of a prey drive to be with small animals. Tikeya is no exception. . she would kill my hammies if she got the chance.

When my aunt got her new sheep dog puppy, they told her to keep it the hell away from cats, the breed is known to kill any small animal that could be a threat to the sheep. But she decided to raise the pup with her pet cat to try to teach the pup that cats r good (she needs the barn cats to kill the rodents & birds).

My aunt said the dog loves the cats, he was only 6 mths old & he was hearding the kittens to the porch. & he was good to the adult cats too.

he was also a natural see & eye dog for their ex sheep dog, who is now in RB after serving 2 farms for 15 yrs, 3 of which he was 100% blind. The blind dog was born on my aunts farm & was sold to a farmer down the way, but most of the farms out there have closed down, so they gave her back the dog 6 yrs later.
