    AIM Help

Is there any way that I can make it so when I turn on my comp. it doesn't log me in atomaically???

    yes.

Click on My Aim > Edit Perferences >

In the new window click on Sign On/Off (menu on left side)

Under Sign On you will see a check box for Start AIM when Windows Starts. Make sure there is NO check mark next to that option.

    Click Apply > Click Ok.

    Next.

    On your desktop...

    Click Start> Click Run >
Where it says Open: type > msconfig > Press Enter

In the new screen which pops up click on the Start Up Tab
In here you will see a list with check boxes, find the one for AOL Instant messanger. IF it is there (might not be) remove the check mark.
Click Apply > Click Ok > Click Exit Without Restart

When you restart your computer next time, hopefully it should not start up AIM.

You don't need to do that last step..just set it up on aim to not start up when you reboot and it works..

slleiper: That's why I said IF it's in there, to do it.
Some of the older versions of AIM put it in the start up.

hee hee, can't help you with ICQ, I try to keep that program OFF my computer.

Not into 10 different guys from Jordan/Iraq messaging me every day looking for cyber or phone sex.

I last had ICQ like 3 or so years ago. So I don't know how much it has changed, I took myself off of the white pages thing, and left virtually no info in my messenger profile, but these people still found me some how!
