    Pig or Iguana?

Does anyone who owns an iguana have an iguana that is eating like a little pig? Just wondering. Mine is!

Yep! I sure do! Mine eats like a pig as well - she's nice and plump and eating that much is a sign of good health!

Yes, I'm very happy that she is eating like a little pig, considering she didn't eat for 2 months straight and vet visits didn't help. Have you guys heard of ZuPreem Iguana Diet? It's canned food. My iguana has eaten it ever since she had a calcium deficiency and it has gotten her healthier than ever. She of course gets her greens regularly, with the occasional treat and some fruit. Speaking of fruit, do your ig's like bananas? Iggie absolutely loves them. Do you have guys have any pics?

    Well, thanks!

    Hey there,

Glad to hear your iguana is eating now after not having eaten for so long. It's hard to find a good reptile vet, so I know how that goes. My iguana LOVES bananas but they're not all that great for her... once in a great while I will give her one as a treat, but Mangoes are excellent - I give her those as often as I can and she loves them.

I don't feed Caicos any canned ig food - I've got her on Kevin Egan's Iguana Den diet... 8 different kinds of greens, all with high calcium low phosphorus ratios.... (IE, Chickory, Escarole, Kale, Mustard Greens, Turnip Greens, Dandilion Greens, cucumbers, etc.) The Iguana Den site is currently under new ownership but you can still get to it via http://www.iguanaden.com/ - they have quite a few helpful links and lots of good information there.

Heres to many happy years with your iguana. I also have lots of pictures of all my pets at my site - http://www.caicos.org/galleries/ - Caicos is the iguana, Faye, Jet, and Prism are snakes, and Lexx and Gex are leopard geckos.

Xev was also a leopard gecko but she died earlier this week. She had a horrible time shedding and couldn't come out of it.
