cute betta, looks liek my betta Bubbles. just a hint though, that habitat is much to small for your betta. it should have at least a 1-2 gallon.

Very pretty betta. I tend to agree with TM though.

Edit: Also, many bettas are jumpers, and I've had more than one commit suicide jumping out of an open-top bowl.

    Thank you Wolf_Q!

I disagree --- that size tank/bowl for that betta is perfect! They don't need a lot of room. A betta can live a very happy life in that bowl. Oh --- and that betta is BEAUTIFUL!!!

Well I've always had Bettas in bowls that size and they've lived long happy lives with no complaints.

Plus some of those Betta kits they sell have even smaller containers than the bowl I got. Jango is my work company. I can't bring in an aquarium.

    Thank you for the compliments.

betta males are tropical fish they need alot of room to swim to make a big territory. from my past experience with betta males, they much PREFUR a 1-10 gallon tank rather then a container, cup, jar, or bowl. I am just giving some advise thats all. I bought a great habbitat for my male betta Bubbles a while ago it was 17$ and comes with a oxagen thing. Though bettas dont need to have bubbles throughout there tank like most tropical fish, they do like them. My betta mad a HUGE bubble nest out of his lol. ... and the tank is only 1.5-2.5 gallons. so ya its all good.

Hey, I thought that betta's needed warm water; but as I can see in your pictures, they live in cold water?

Would they also survive in an outside pond?

NO they would surly die living in an outside pond.
there tank should be at a steady temp of aropund 68 F or 20 C

Jango's water is room temp. It's also distilled bottle water. No tap water for my baby!

Jango is so beautiful! I love his color, he looks almost identical to Popcorn! And he looks so happy in his nice bowl.

As for the size of the bowl, I think it is perfect. That is the size bowl I kept Kelsey in before I got the big tank. It looks like he has plenty of room for him. It is very nice.

It's good that you use bottled water, but distilled water is not healthy for fish. I buy several gallons of regular spring water for $0.55 a gallon locally.

Also, TM, 68 F is WAY too cold for a betta! They should be between 76 and 82 at all times! My beautiful boy stays at about 80 during the day and high 70's at night.

Here are some good links to check out:

Hmm...It's been about a week since I did a water change, I think I'm going to go take care of that now! My poor boy, LoL! I ran out of live food a few days ago and he doesn't care for the pelleted stuff.

    Thank you Wolf_Q!

Great pictures, your Betta is great! I also kept my Betta in a bowl like yours and they lived pretty long.

I see you also like Star Wars?

Jango, you are just beautiful!! I love your colour!!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!
