    Golden Health

Hi, i have a question. Im a little concerned about my golden, Daisy. She is a 1 year old golden retriever female, thats small for her age. My vet said she will most likey have a growth spurt, and become a little bigger. Well, that hasnt happened yet! I know females tend to be a little smaller then males. I appreciate your input on this. Thanx

Your vet is right, Goldens can grow until they are 18 months old. When Carina came home my vet couldn't believe she was six months old because she was rather small. Now she's 10 years old and 70 lbs. Sizes can vary a lot, my first Golden, also a female was very large, 90 lbs., my second was smaller, 75/80 lbs. Pups grow at their own pace.
In any case, what does it matter? A Golden is just as sweet, loving and smart no matter the size.
Please give Daisy a big hug from this other Golden mom.

Yeah, I'm a little concerned about Mick's size too. I wish he were just a little bigger but I don't think he'll grown anymore

Enjoy your "little" girl, and if she stays that way, it's ok!! I have two Golden girls, one middle sized one, Honey, who is about 63 pounds, and just perfect! The other, Lilly, fights her weight (like Mom ) and topped out at 97 pounds! Last time she was weighed, I think she was 84 pounds. But I have to watch her constantly!
