bunny people--I need your help!!!

Look at who I found on my front porch:



This little guy looks soooo scared--he's hiding behind our recycling bin (the orange thing). I don't know how old he is, or where his mommy is. I know I probably shouldn't touch him, but I think he is really scared right now. Any advice?? Is there anything I can feed him or anything??
The only thing I KNOW not to do, is let Kito out there. Riley wanted to play with him.

Ok, granted I don't know much about wildlife in PA, his tiny ears make me think he's domestic. BUT take into consideration that:

1. I've only seen one baby cottontail in my life...and I was about 6 yrs old.
2. I'm in NM and I'm used to seeing jack rabbits (ie HUGE ears lol).

Being the sucker that I am (and as I often let my heart rule my mind) if he let me touch him, I'd take him in in a heartbeat.

Have you tried to contact a wildlife rescue/rehabiliation organization?

Forgot to add that, while he looks so tiny, he's probably able to make it on his own. (I'd still call a wildlife org. just to make sure though. They can relocate him to a safe place. )

Mom bunnies only feed there babies once a day. you shoudl leave it alone, it's the best thing for it.

hmmm.. it's almost 11 pm here--I don't think anyone would be around if I did call--maybe I'm wrong, I could try

I just don't want to see this poor little guy die or something, there was a dead bunny on the road the other night--maybe that was his momma

I don't think momma is feeding this little one anymore... he looks too old to nurse. I haven't been around very many baby buns but I'd guess he is about 7-9wks.

I honestly couldn't tell you how old he is but I would go with how old Tonya said. And Tonya may be right, he might be to old, that I can't tell you.

So he may be ok?? just a little scared??
I'm going to let him go overnight (it's not too cold out), and I found the number of a wildlife rehabilitator 5 minutes from here, I will call her in the morning and see what she thinks, or if she can do anything.

Well, he moved off of the porch into the yard last night (near the road), but I haven't seen him yet this morning. I'm hoping that means he found his way back to wherever he belongs, and is ok.

Actually baby bunnies, wild and domestic, get fed twice a day by their mom at dawn and dusk. She leaves them in order to draw predators away from the nest, so they never really are abandoned.

We have 20 babies right now at our sanctuary...I'm guessing this one is 5 weeks old and he would be eating mostly vegetation at this age.

If he does come back you could either call a wild life rehab. person, leave him be or keep him. He is old enough to be away from his momma.
