    What kind of Internet connection?

I have just got broadband (cable) connection to the Internet. I decided to ask a nosy question and see who has dial-up (world wide wait ), DSL Cable, T1, etc.

    BTW, broadband RULES!

Sigh........the ancient AOL dial-up.............(I play Spider Solitaire, not Freecell, while waiting for Pet Talk to load )

I'm just too cheap to pay extra for DSL, and I'm paranoid about broadband because it puts you on a "network" along the cable route. It took us a year just to decide to spend the extra $10 a month for a second phone line so we weren't tying up the phone with our Internet - I have to be dragged into the 21st century kicking and screaming, I guess!
The legend says that Mohammed adored cats. When one of them was sleeping on his sleeve and he had to go out, Mohammed supposedly cut off the sleeve so as not to disturb his pet.

Woohoo, lucky me, I have AOL.
Everyone we know keeps badgering us to get Optimum or other kinds of dial-up, but I myself do not want to change. Simply because I don't want to lose my nice e-mail account and all my favorites and files. Plus, it goes a bit faster than Netscape and some of the others I've known. But hey, I'm not paying the bill, so that's just me.
AOL has to be connected to the internet to have anything internet-wise run; Netscape, Internet Explorer, AIM, Trillian, etc. They all run on AOL's power. So if AOL has to close (and it does have to close A LOT), then everything else goes bye-bye.
