here is a bird cage that I have..

I housed my old rat in it.

I hope to some time in the next couple of months get another budgie to house in this cage.. *after Cheeko and Spanky are tame*

    Suzie's house:

Peanut, Nugget, Sweet Pea, Oscar and Fred's house:

Daisy and Chloe's house: *looks way different now, this is an old picture

    Outdoor home:

    Extra cage:

Suzie's house is half of the extra cage. The other half of it is in the shed. So, I have 5 cages.

Peanut, Nugget, Sweet Pea, Oscar and Fred's cage should be this one. .. . . ...

the first one looks wayyyy bigger.

Nope, the one Suzie is in now is smaller than the adult rattie cage.

Two of my dwarves, the chinese males (rebel and rascal):

One of the syrians (the other has exactly the same set-up)

My original two gerbils cage, note it is not wise to house gerbils in cages like this since they can defend parts as their territory and fight over it. These two I am lucky with as they have got on fine, if I gave them a regular cage like the other gerbils had I think there would be more trouble!!!

All these cages are made from plastic storage bins plus some commercial cages. I have also added suction cup corner shelves into the storage bins for the hamsters now.

Is there enough ventilation in the plastic storage bins? How do you modify them without mangling them?

In the back of the bins (the ones without screen lids, the ones which are under another bin/cage) I have cut a panel and replaced it with mesh for ventillation (it is at the back because it doesn;t look too pretty). It is about 5cm deep and goes along most of the short side of the bin. I drilled small holes around this panel and used plastic coated wire through these holes to hold on the mesh panel.

Cutting without breaking them is tricky, I have to be very careful and use a hot knife. I have of course broken quite a few!!

All the cages not under another have a mesh lid.
