Hearing about funny pet happenings at work today

I work for an ophthalmologist and today at work one of the first patients was ordering new contacts. It seems she needed them way ahead of time because her cat, who likes to sit on the sink while she gets ready (I know lots of people can relate to that!) decided to stick his little paw into her contact lens case and bat the contact to who knows where! LOL! Two of us at work have kitties and we sure got a kick out of that. Kitties - what would we do without them!

Then my co-worker said she had to tell us about her hectic and scary morning. She was making breakfast for her daughter and put out her daughter's acne pill on the counter. Her sheltie also takes a glucosamine pill each morning for her joints (hidden in pudding.... ). Anyway, she said she was rushing and just happened to notice that the color of the pill on her dog's tongue was the same color as her daughter's acne medicine so she immediately realized she gave the dog the wrong pill! YIKES! That prompted a call to the Emergency Vet and they gave her the # of Animal Poison Control. They charged her $40 for advice over the phone (to be charged on her credit card) and said her dog would probably be fine. We of course eventually all laughed since the dog wasn't in any danger but I was surprised about the $40 charge for advice over the phone! Wow!

Good grief, that's horrendous to charge anything for that!! I hope the girl doesn't get her acne back! LOL! ...... Sorry!
I'm glad I don't use contacts, Fister would bat them around all over the place!

Contacts or glasses - it doesn't matter here!! Nutmeg is always stealing my glasses and dragging them off somewhere. And then I can't see, so I am afraid to walk anywhere and step on them She thinks the arms are fun, I guess

$40 seems like a lot.. especially when they could have just said the dog will be fine...

Hayley don't like seeing our glasses on the bathroom counter at all. She has to push them on the floor every time. I'm expecting to see a lens fall out at any time!

Well $40 is alot, but I'm just glad there is a service like that out there.
Kelcee, when she was younger, used to take my earrings. Years later I find them in the strangest places.

I can relate to the glasses/contacts thing. Hanna will bat my contacts case around, but she hasn't been able to snatch one yet. My glasses though - when I'm wearing them she will chew on them and then take her paw and pull them off.

The worst is when I brush my teeth. If I forget to remove her from the bathroom, she will get right up in the sink, and then I am left standing there with a mouth full of toothpaste suds I can't spit out until I put her outside the door.

I can relate to the contact story. When I used to wear contacts , I had lasik surgery 3 years ago so now I don't have to wear anything except a mild prescription on my glasses to drive at night, I had to hide my contact case because they would bat it around like a toy and I'd have to search for it daily. I also think that $40 is too much to charge for some advice. Someone sure is making some money off of scared pet owners out there.
