    New pics of my bird

I finally have a few new photos of my bird. Let me know which photo you like best, I'm thinking of using one of the pics for Pet of the Day.
These are pic 1 and 2. In pic 2 T-bird is still wet from taking a shower.

T-bird is so gorgeous! I love all the pictures! It is hard to pick maybe #2.

I like number 4 the best, it shows his face and is the sharpest out of all of them, as well as it shows his clean cage etc. He's a beautiful bird! Congrats!

Luckie, I was cleaning T-bird's cage at the time I took the photos. I kind of like picture #3 the best myself.

    #3

Hi Vermontcat! I vote for #3. I love them all though. I like the one where the birdie is all wet....but the head is cut of a bit. Hehehehehe. It will be fun to see if and when your bird is selected.

He's adorable! I like 1 and 3 the best! It seems like he really loves his mirror! LOL! Popcorn and Muffin don't care about their's. It catches their attention once in 2 weeks and its so funny to see how they stare into it for like a minute, then forget about it for weeks! Is T-bird tame?

Thanks everyone. T-bird is pretty camera shy, he hears the camera and stops what he is doing and his eyes are shut in most of the photos I have tried to get of him.
I had to stick the camera in the door of his cage to take the photos.
Popcorn, T-bird loves both of his mirrors, he talks to himself in them and pecks at them and snuggles up to them when he is sleepy.
He also likes to sleep perched on the orange one at night and will tell me when it is time for bed and that I need to cover his cage.

That's so cute! What does Samantha think of him?

Is he allowed out of the cage, and is he friendly or scared of people?

Samantha finds him entertaining. She is a well-behaved older cat who doesn't try to jump at him.
The worst thing she does is sit under his cage and stare at him and he will get very very quiet when she does that.

We have let him out of the cage in the summer when Samantha was either outside or downstairs in the basement and he flew laps between the kitchen and living room
(he had clipped wings when we got him but we let them grow out so he could fly if he ever was out of his cage when Samantha was in the room).
He likes me because I give him his food and water and clean his cage, he lets me stroke his back, wings and tail when I need to get in his cage.
But he has this love/hate thing going with my husband where he will whistle with him and call to him and then try to peck his hands.
I think T-bird is a girl since the beak has changed color from blue to brown in the past year and that would explain why he/she is drawn to my husband.
I think I will go with photo number 3 and put the gender as unknown when I submit the photo for Pet of the Day. Now I have to work on writing up T-bird's story.
    RIP sweet Samantha

I'm pretty sure T-bird is a girl because young parakeets all have purple/blue nostrils, and the color changes to blue if they are male and brown if they are female after they mature. T-bird was most likely a baby when you got her. I would call her a female. That's nice Samantha doesn't bother her and its always recommended to keep a bird flighted when there are other pets around for their safety.

OH Vermontcat, your birdie is the sweetest!! It looks like he has been playing in the grape jelly with the purple spot on his cheek. I think my favorite is picture number 3, but all the pictures are so bright and colorful!

I know what you mean about Samantha kitty staring...Marigold does the exact same thing, and it's almost like she gets into a reverie. Then if you snap your fingers, she jumps as if you have knocked her back to reality. I can only imagine what she is thinking.
