    Leonbergers

I knew I had heard of this breed, but wasn't quite sure what they looked like...

Well, one came in for a bath and brush today. What an AWESOME dog!! His name was Ray, and I swear he was the biggest sweetheart. So well behaved, friendly, and just gorgeous!! And BIG! hehe

I love meeting new and rare breeds of dogs.

    Here's some pics of them:

we had one who came into our grooming shop a while back, and it was a total spaz when it came to being crated. Imaginge that, a dog of that size never been crate trained. That is an injustice to the dog. What would happen if it needed to go to the vet and stay?

I'm a volunteer foster home for Leonberger Rescue. However, I doubt if I'll ever get to foster one. I did get a call to adopt, rather than foster a female Leo from CA, but Shiloh is not female friendly, couldn't do it! Still waiting for that call to foster, though.
    Save a life, ADOPT!!

I have a Leo puppy. She is really my daughters.Byakko is mine but we share Dakota Star is her name. She will be 7 months on the 23rd.She is beautiful and so sweet. What a wonderful breed. We fell in love with them years ago at the rare breed show in Washington DC that falls around mothers day called the cherry blossom show. She is so laid back yet also plays and loves to give Leo licks. She is quite the kisser. She likes to cuddle. She has been sick and they aren't sure what is wrong but you know she is still as sweet as can be so she is small for her age but she is still around 60 lbs but her sisters are around 80 lbs so they are quite the giant breed. We will get her welll, we have lots of help and are trying to keep a positive attitude.Dakota sure keeps a positive attitude.Anyway I just thought it was great to see a post about a Leo because they are quite wonderful yet quite a handful as well.I hear Dog Fancy will be featuring them in May I believe.I don't think it is April.I must see the article (no affiliation)
