See Mandy....this rips my heart out. :(

About a month or two ago, Mandy was brought in to the shelter. She's a gorgeous orange tabby that was so stressed out, her fur was falling out!

She is such a sweet girl...and looks so much like Fister...of course I fell in love with her!

But it rips my heart out to see her still there. I feel so badly for her. She hates not being in a quiet, safe home, I can tell. We're going back tomorrow and its going to take everything I have not to take her home. Come see:

    Poor Mandy...
I just hate seeing animals in a shelter... they are so undeserving of such an unfair life....

*KISSES* for you sweet Mandy... I hope you find a wonderful forever home soon!!!!

Tiger is another one! He's so, so sweet. He will even come and lays in your lap...I have no idea why he's still there.

awww.. she looks just like my eliza... i'm gonna cry now! I hate seeing animals without a good home. We got Mozart from an adoption center.. and bach..and then eliza from my husbands parents because they didn't want her anymore and i'll never understand it..she's a great girl!

I hope they all find homes soon. I wish I lived closer.. i'd sneak in and adopt her and bring her home..since she looks so much like eliza my husband might not notice one more kitty he'd just think "wow eliza sure gets around fast"

I've been volunteering at my local shelter for about 4 years now and I can probably guess why Mandy is still there....

No one wants an older cat!!!!!

And this makes me sick!!! I've seen dozens of adult cats come into our shelter that just get looked over for younger ones. Don't people realize that adult cats have feelings too and they are craving forever homes with someone to love and be loved?

I pray that God will guide kind and caring people to the shelter and help them to realize that older cats need love too! Hang on Mandy! Special people are worth waiting for and someday you will find your forever home.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

I bet you are right. We adopted Olivia from there in December and she's 7 years old. I really don't understand why not, they are wonderful cats too...without all the crazy kitten stress...

Kelly,I sure hope that she gets adopted soon as well as the others too. Maybe some one from Pet Talk will see her and just have to have her and then she'll get adopted. Good luck Mandy.

from personal experience, the "husband convincing" part gets easier as the numbers get highter.

Oh, it breaks my heart to see that someone once owned Mandy, had her declawed - and then dumped her. How cruel!

Yes, she looks a lot like Fister and I can certainly understand it's difficult for you to leave her there. Work some more on your husband.

Nosescritchies to you Mandy and the rest there - hope you all will find good loving homes!

How sad - all those beautiful cats looking for a home - I could cry.
Wish I was nearer (!!) and could do something. I'd LOVE to give Mandy a home, she looks so gorgeous.
Kelly please give her some nose kissies from me with the hope her 'forever' home soon comes and collects her. xxx

An absolutely SWEET declawed black female came into Petsmart this week; she'd been dumped. We have some particularly hard luck cats come in recently so that's why I'm very grumpy today. Anyway, Minnie is a mush! I couldn't get a pic since she was a black cat in a dark bed in a dark cage!
