Not to be confused with my parents gravely ill Great Pyrenees, my next foster is a GSD with the same name.
Bandit is a 5.5 yr. old owner surrender because they are moving and can't/won't take him with. There are circumstances that really MAY warrent his turn over; who am I to judge. At least they came to GSD rescue and were very sad about it.
Well, well, well.....this guy is not gonna last long. What an adorable cutie-patootie!!!!!!! He is very dark, dark in face, too. His legs look good (now that I am paranoid about HD). He and Killian met and Bandit did his little dominent try and quickly backed down. Settled, Killian is the boss (the observers said that Killian is alpha, it shows very clearly).
Now........Shiloh................hmmmmm........... ..Bandit is very interested in my girl. He kept testing her to see who would be boss. Each and every time, she did her lip curl and he backed off. We all thought it was very funny. Many times he was in her face and all she did was show her pearly whites and he backed off. I am thinking the yard intros are going to be fun. They may turn out to be best buds, which will make it really hard for me to let this one go.
He is underweight, but not too horrible. He needs meat on his bones, but he still looks good and powerful. He also met a puppy that he was interested in and even let the pup paw him. How cute.
He did have a problem, though. He had a burst hematoma that was bleeding. Drops of blood were all over the vet's floor. It looked like a crime scene. The vet was going to fix that. Good. On Christmas Eve morning, I will be picking up Bandit. He will be stealing my heart, I know it already.
Good news about Gaylord. On Tuesday, he has a vet appointment to discuss hip surgery. Woohoo! Good for him!!
