    Foster #2, Bandit

Not to be confused with my parents gravely ill Great Pyrenees, my next foster is a GSD with the same name.

Bandit is a 5.5 yr. old owner surrender because they are moving and can't/won't take him with. There are circumstances that really MAY warrent his turn over; who am I to judge. At least they came to GSD rescue and were very sad about it.

Well, well, well.....this guy is not gonna last long. What an adorable cutie-patootie!!!!!!! He is very dark, dark in face, too. His legs look good (now that I am paranoid about HD). He and Killian met and Bandit did his little dominent try and quickly backed down. Settled, Killian is the boss (the observers said that Killian is alpha, it shows very clearly).
Now........Shiloh................hmmmmm........... ..Bandit is very interested in my girl. He kept testing her to see who would be boss. Each and every time, she did her lip curl and he backed off. We all thought it was very funny. Many times he was in her face and all she did was show her pearly whites and he backed off. I am thinking the yard intros are going to be fun. They may turn out to be best buds, which will make it really hard for me to let this one go.
He is underweight, but not too horrible. He needs meat on his bones, but he still looks good and powerful. He also met a puppy that he was interested in and even let the pup paw him. How cute.
He did have a problem, though. He had a burst hematoma that was bleeding. Drops of blood were all over the vet's floor. It looked like a crime scene. The vet was going to fix that. Good. On Christmas Eve morning, I will be picking up Bandit. He will be stealing my heart, I know it already.

Good news about Gaylord. On Tuesday, he has a vet appointment to discuss hip surgery. Woohoo! Good for him!!

I will not get Bandit til after Christmas now. The hematoma wasn't one, it was that he pulled out all his stitches (like Gaylord) not long after they put them in! He also has swelling. So now he is staying at the vet with an e-collar on til after Christmas. I would have been so worried about him that I probably wouldn't have gone to Christmas at my parents (I did that for Thanksgiving with Gaylord)!!! There will be vet techs with him. I had to be sure that he wasn't going to be alone! They have learned their lesson, all non-puppies will be wearing e-collars.

Hehehe, they know I would take him to the ER if I thought he needed to go. It would cost them!! I treat my fosters like my own. Haha

oh, be still my heart...catch the ball...that is my favorite game too (or do I have to call it throw the ball). I know I can't have a third dog, but I can dream.

I think that two dogs is the perfect number to have. BUT, depending on how all three get along................
When I first saw him I thought uh oh, this is gonna be the hard one to give up......
Gaylord's HD and my stairs were not compatable, so it was easier there.
I will be strong (telling myself). Unless, of course,.....
