Magnificent Miss Muffin!
Dearest Muffin, you are magnificent indeed! What a beautiful young Tabby lady you are, just two and a half years old, with those very gorgeous, very distinctive markings in your soft-looking fur. And what a sweet face you have with those lovely big green eyes! My beautiful young Tabby lady Tinker says "Hello, Meow!" You're so cute sitting up there on that counter, and I'm sorry if I interrupted you as you were about to read the newspaper there in front of you. I wish I could reach through the screen and over to Garden Grove, CA to pet you! I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Purrrents will pet you for me
.
And what a delightful story you have to tell! Your dear Meowmie-to-be didn't care too much for cats until you showed up at the back door. You knew just how to push the right buttons! You won her over with your trick of rolling onto your back with joy when you see her. Now she loves you dearly (and so does your dear Daddy, of course). When they pull into the driveway, you jump down from the house window and roll around on your back in the driveway until one of them picks you up and holds you. (You're expecting some food too, of course.) You are a spoiled princess (and so you should be!), and you and they all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Muffin, on being chosen today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and your dear Purrrents and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
