Former Dog of the Day will be on TV!

Kiwi, a former Dog of the Day (see http://DogoftheDay.com/archive/2000/July/30.html ) is a black lab with an incredible story. She will be on Miracle Pets on PAX this Monday night (at 8 p.m., EST)! You should check your own local listings, just in case. Her owner, Lisa, had emailed me that she would be on TV at some point, and then, while watching TV last night, I saw the promo! Watch the show, and you can say "we knew her when ..."

Thanks Karen! I watch that show regularly and can't WAIT to see our former celebrant on TV!! Kiwi's story was just incredible, and the show always does such great job of portraying these magnificent animals as the incredible heroes they are. DON'T FORGET TO WATCH!! How proud Kiwi's mom must be.

Hi Every one Kiwi's mom here.

I want to thank every one for all of your wonderful commentsabout Kiwi. Everyone is right she is a special terrfic dog, I owe my life and my happiness to her.

I was very happy when I got a call from Animal Miracles (In Canada Miracle pets) we filmed for hours and I am proud to say Kiwi is one of the only dogs that has appeared on the show and did all her own work, they mostly use dog and human actor to re enact. In this case Kiwi was Kiwi and I was myself except for the floor scenes (that was an actress) and the EMT people were the same ones that treated us, we were glad to be reunited woth them also. Miracle pets in Canada airs a little later, and I haven;t receive my copy of the taping yet so I haven't seen the show. It is on in Canada Feb 9th and 10 on the life network.

Well I wanted ot say Kiwi is retired fully now , Java has taken over her job , but Kiwi still does PR work and public education, we are booked all over Canada and in some city's in the US this year.

There is also a book being written on Kiwi, I am proud of her we found ou she was just nominated into the Purina Hall of Fame. I need to buy her sunglasses her head is growing LOL :-) she deserves ever minute of it. Yo ucan visit her and her foundation at these two sites http://www.homestead.com/kiwimom/kiwihome.html
    and http://www.csolve.net/~kiwi/

    Thank everyone

    Lisa

Congratulations to both of you! Kiwi is an amazing dog. My dog Daisy takes very good care of my father, who is also in a wheelchair. She's not a service dog or anything, but she is very gentle with him and she worries about him. He recently had a tracheotomy and is now on a ventilator. Daisy used to jump onto his lap and kiss his face, but she knows now she has to be more gentle around his neck and is content just to sit on his lap and have him pet her. She is so good for him too and makes him so happy. We are all so lucky to have our caring babies. Congrats again to Kiwi and her Mom, and good luck to Java in filling Kiwi's shoes!
