    Belle had surgery; doing well

Belle is 8 y.o. She had a tumor, a histiocytoma, develop on her side, behind her front leg. These tend to be benign; they also usually spontaneously disappear within 3 months.

Well, what with all my surgeries, this thing was around 17 months. From Feb to August it grew from 1 cm to 3 cm. So it had to be removed. Surgery was Thursday. Belle has to be confined for 10 days to allow the incision site to heal. I have her in the x-pen in the living room with pee pads, water bowl, and 2 beds. She is wearing an ecollar. And I have to take her out on leash so she just not dash about, play with Frankie, and so on. We will have the lab report the end of next week.

The first pics show this tumor in January.

Then a pic when she first got home, still groggy from the anesthesia.

And 2 pics of her outside; you can see the incision in those.

She is taking Tramadol morning and night and doing well; though she is not happy that she can't sleep in the bed with us yet. I need to wait until touching her side is not going to hurt her at all.

Well, it seems I can not upload files at this time.

Oh, poor Belle having to wear the dreaded cone and be confined, but I'm glad you had it done.

Sending best wishes for a speedy recovery and I hope the lab report comes back with good results!

    Love to Belle!

Oh dear, poor Belle! Recovery from surgery is no fun for humans, let alone furkids! But the important thing is the surgery went well, that's she home, and fingers crossed for a good lab report next week! And of course we know her mommy is doing her best to make her extra comfy! Lots of love and cuddles to you, sweetheart! Get well soon!

I'm glad that Belle's surgery went well.
Belle, your mom is definitely a pro when it comes to taking care of post-op patients, I wish you a speedy recovery.
