    Mugsy's on a mission!!!

OK guys....it's letter writing time. I was told that Ingham county, MI's shelters are forced by their elected officials to sell unclaimed animals to research facilities. I'm enclosing my email that I sent and the contact info. Please, please, please, write them and tell them of your outrage.

    Ms. Bennett,

I am writing from Allen County, IN. I am appalled at your county's policy of selling unwanted animals from the county shelters to research facilities. I belong to a pet bulletin board that has members all over the world and your policy has been posted on that board for all to see. Please be advised that I, for one, will never visit Ingham County and spend my tourist dollars until that awful policy has been amended and that the county will do what it can to educate its people instead of just throwing away living things so that your county government doesn't have to deal with it. I will be urging the other members of the bulletin board to do the same and email or send letters expressing their outrage.

    Thank you,

    INGHAM COUNTY

Ok, now I'm officially LIVID!!!!! I just went to Ingham County Shelter's petfinder website and there are 4 dogs listed on there that have been sold to research facilities. OMG!!!! I'm so angry right now I'm shaking. Now, not only am I writing, but when I get home I'm calling. Not that I'm a huge fan of PETA, because I think they're a little extreme sometimes, but I'm going to contact them too. HMMMMM....maybe I can make use of the ACLU too. What other animal rights places can I contact to make their lives miserable??? How about Heart's United??

    Mugsy,
I know that this is starting to sound like a standard answer from me....but i find them to be a great resource...Best friends...Bestfriends.org.

they have connections everywhere.....and are always so involved and willing to help...if they don't do themselves...they always know someone who can.....

what about the national chapter of the S.P.C.A ???can they do anything????aspca.com?????

    or even the NSAL.org

    they might have a contact....

Thank you Mugsy for bringing this up. Where I live the city has just now stopped selling pound dogs to the university for research. People here didn't really know it was going on and than it came out in the papers, the city officials were pressured by their voters to end this and now it has been done

Are the people of this county aware of this? Maybe go to the local paper and have them put a story about what is going on in the paper and hopefully the same results will follow as in my city.

    Good luck
