    A tear jerker

Don't read this post unless you have your Kleenex box beside you. Also, if you're in a happy, holiday mood, wait until later. I have cried for hours after reading it, but it is a reality check that I guess we all need occasionally. Personally, I think I block the reality of what happens to unwanted pets sometimes and concentrate on my lovely girls and Dexter, who is a success story. This makes me realize how lucky he is.

Well, if everyone who gave up their pets for reasons that are beyond belief were made to watch an animal being put down them perhaps more would think twice. (In an ideal world!! Of course what would happen is more would be dumped on the street.)
A very well written and narrated story and well worth reading.

Wow Logan! Thanks for the warning about the sadness content. I was hoping that the writer of the story was going to adopt that little puppy that was on the table. That would have been a better ending, but then again this is real life and things do not always end up with a picture perfect ending. Thanks for the story. It certainly sends a clear message about responsible pet ownership and the necessity for neutering/spaying pets!
