    Facebook myths....

    Just FYI, there's a post going around facebook giving an address to send cards to any wounded servicemember care of Walter Reed medical center.

    The post is a well intentioned hoax.

    The USPS will not accept mail sent to "any servicemember", mail sent to soldiers/sailors MUST have a recipient on the address, otherwise it either gets shredded or returned to the sender. This is due to the anthrax attack(s) following 9/11 here in the US.

    Yeah, I saw that. I thought for a brief moment that it would be nice to send a serviceman a card. Glad I didn't.

    You can still send a card, there's a link to the Red Cross on the page I posted to do that.
