    My Thanksgiving by Edwina

As with most holidays I spent it in my bedroom. It's not all bad as I get room service (water, kibbles, and turkey on a tray!)

The reason is my cousins -- all male, all four legged, all canine!

Usually the first to arrrive is Gavin (my campanion for the Olympics!) He's a pistol but at least he knows how to dress for the occasion....

Next is KC. Just because he has "KING" in his name he thinks he can do anything he wants...including sitting in momma's chair at the table!

It's not all naps and nibbles for me though. I have to keep a close eye on these guys. They eat my food, drink my water, get my attention.

Odin came for dessert. I guess he was excited to see his two buddies because he went into the living room and took the biggest whiz EVER on the cloth covering the end table. I was amazed how calm momma was about it. She said that's what a good Chianti does for you (whatever that means.) She even played on the floor with Odin.

By Saturday they were all gone and...after a careful check the house was mine...all mine again!

Oh Edwina, it is wonderful to have company but sometimes the best part about it is when THEY GO HOME!!

It sounds as though you were the perfect hostess as always.
However, sometimes, these holidays just must be spent in seclusion!

I hope that you can rest today after your long and stressful weekend!

    Oh darling Edwina,
it is the same in our household. When mom's parents have a nawtidawg -is it my aunt then?
When SHE comes, she's a dachshund and is called Amber, Filou says hello to her. Not me!
I retire. But when Amber comes to look for me I have to show her my nice long and sharp claws!
I am feeling for you and I can see it in your face: How can your mom allow this crowd in And give them your turkey?
    Love
    Tigris

Sara, that picture of the dog - Gavin? is hilarious! A real gentleman!

Dearest Edwina, you certainly look suspicious there on the landing, but I can see the doors are open for a quick escape. You seem to be thinking "Oh no, not again!" Are they coming or going? I bet they'll be noisy too!

And on the last one, "Are we alone now mom? Come and give me a hug, I really need it! - and Edwina, you must remember, a good Chianti works wonders for your mom!

Gosh, Miss Edwina, what a time you had. Somehow, when I saw the first picture, I thought you dawned something black and slinky and wore pearls around your neck and a matching hat with a feather, and was his escort for the festivities. Instead of a fancy dress dinner you were treated to an INVASION!!! Better luck at Christmas time!!!

  12. Edwina did come to the table for a while. She sat on her momma's lap (once KC got off the chair ) but she seemed to have something caught in her throat -- causing her to hiss and growl! This made some of the guests nervous.

Turnip (the guinea pig) also visited. However, she was soooo excited to be at the "grown up" table that she wheeked alot and also made some guests nervous!

Edwina, you are truly the Hostess with the Mostest! You are my inspiration. How do you keep your poise with such demanding guests? Your fans would appreciate your guidance here.
