Toby, the gift~

Toby, sweet angel boy. I can't imagine a more deserving Memorial Day weekend honoree than you, and it's our privilege to memorialize, pay tribute to a pup; a best friend and loving companion, a caregiver and life changer as special as you. Your first five years of life were not the happiest, for sure. But that all changed that fateful day your rescuers, your forever family, found their way to you. As your Mom, Charmaine Hammond, writes in the forward to "On Toby's Terms,"

I believe that every challenge is accompanied by a gift, and I was about to learn that many gifts are accompanied by a challenge."

As so it was for you and your family during those early, challenging days together. But in the end, the gifts you both were blessed with, your love for one another, and the gifts you in turn gave to countless others, hope and inspiration, well worth the effort. You are a hero in my book Toby, as is your family, and we are so grateful for all that you did to help others, to inspire others, during your time on this earth; as you continue to do to this day...through your books, your upcoming major motion picture, the everlasting pawprints you left on the hearts of so many, your enduring legacy of love, kindness, generosity of spirit, and charity.

But most of all he loved bigger than life and gave everyone so much just by being Toby

I'm off to purchase on Amazon, "On Toby's Terms," and "Toby, the Pet Therapy Dog, and His Hospital Friends," and encourage others to do so as well. My heart felt it was about to burst, simply reading the first few pages of both. And hopefully your Mom will return here when the movie is released, to update us.

Thanks to your wonderful family for sharing your heart warming, inspirtional, life affirming story with us sweet angel boy. It was truly an honor to meet you all, and have the chance to say..."Thank you, Toby!"

Toby, you are truly a gift to the world and thanks to your wonderful mom for sharing you with the world. You did great work as a therapy dog.

Toby was such a blessing and the world is a far better place because of him. So sorry for your great loss but seeing Toby's beautiful face today was like a rainbow and sunshine in my heart so thank-you so much. Peace and love from Surrey B.C. Toby is still giving and so are you
